I have been running an ST rear bar on mine for a number of years. I think that was the first chassis modification I did on the car. Won't do anything for your rough ride issues. You will not feel any difference in that department. WILL keep the rear in check though. Funny. Limiting the rear roll stiffness improves front traction in the corners. I DID get to test mine out this weekend. We made a round trip to our vacation cabin. I think I finally got the shock settings dialed in [1/2 turn, front & rear]. It is fast and flat in the corners. Handling is very neural and transitions well left-to-right-to-left in quick switchbacks. It was an 83 mile round trip of 2 lane switchbacks.. Lots of fun 😁...J.D.

Have not been doing a lot with the Spyder this month. Life gets busy. I recently made a new friend in town. Joe is an old guy like me. He is SEMI-retired. He still keeps his hand in the locksmithing business. Talked to him about the lock situation with the Eclipse. He came over to my place with the needed electronics to re-program a new, second key. First time EVER I have had a second key for this car. Would not charge me much. Really nice guy. We need a lot more people like Joe. Makes me realize I have to lend a hand where I can. Becoming even happier with the decision I made last year to put my Eclipse back in service. With the economy heading south, and car prices [both new and used] going through the roof, that decision has proven to be a good one. I am tired of feeding the automotive manufacturers a large chunk of my income. I plan to keep the old ones going as long as it is practical. NICE to have no car payments ! A few of these auto manufactures would do the world a great service [GM comes to mind] by closing thier doors for good. Too much production capacity and not enough buyers. Time to get that cheaply built, poorly engineered junk off the highways and driveways. It is only going to get worse. Not good for the national economy. The myth that we will all go all electric in the next few years is just that--A myth. ...J.D.

Those are facts J.D...There is no way the electrical grid could recharge electric cars the way it is. Imagine everyone in your area charging their cars at the same time. I think we would all be in darkness...

At least in the U.S. a residential property is limited to a single phase power drop. Mine is larger than some due to the size of the property. Still, it is only 200 amps @ 230 volts [volt X amps = watts]. How are you supposed to run a modern home and charge one or more vehicles with that ? Upgrading the grid would be very expensive. The local thinking is we should all go solar, but that idea is not going too well. Solar is a great technology but the business models for executing thier plan is very flawed. They want the customer to foot the bill and he is required to connect to the power grid and share power. Currently there is a fight going on about solar users need to help pay for the infrastructure. Gladly we have a choice. I chose not to play the game. ...J.D.

I heard from a friend that the hydro company he is dealing with will buy energy from him. He is tied into the grid and any extra solar power he produces feeds back to them and they give a generous benefit.

They give you the same story here, but when you count the cost the solar installation is not cost effective. If you take the money spent on solar and spend it on energy efficient upgrades you come out WAY ahead. My electric billl for June was $127. Probably going to be a lot higher for July because we are just getting KILLED by the hot weather this month [like most] of the Continental U.S.]. Still not practical to spend for the cost of solar though. ...J.D.

Getting time to put the summer toys away. Spent some time at the cabin last week getting it's furnace ready for winter. I decided to move the thermostat from the lower [sleeping] floor up into the stairwell where the return air is. It will control better that way. I am also adding a low temperature thermostat down it the lower floor to protect the house from freezing while we are away for the winter. It will adjust as low as 35deg.F. Just to keep the sinks and toilets warm. ...J.D.

How did you run the wire or is that a wireless controller.

Only able to do the light duty stuff anymore. Age is taking it's toll I am afraid. The control is a hard wired, digital setback thermostat. I had to drill through the wall, and a floor joist and pull wire under the house. It is then wired to the old location as well to pick up that control. Either control can control the furnace as desired. ...J.D.

Well it was last year I decided to bring my Spyder out of mothballs. It is now to the point of being a great running old car. I took it out for a bit this morning. The wife was going to be busy until noon and I wanted some fresh air. I decided to go over to the next town and try to look up a guy who has done some work on my old 2g years ago. He had an alarm and sterio shop and did a great job on my old red 2g. After ripping around for a bit, I figured out that even though the internet SAID he was still in business, his shop is gone. I was hoping he could set me up with some upgraded sound gear. It did not happen. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere. I was getting on toward lunchtime so I hopped back on the I-15. The Spider rolled along smoothly. Back to home 85 mph on the interstate. Still looking for some new sounds to install this winter. ...J.D.
