Oh, hello curb

Not really a curb, but I'm not sure what else to call it. So I was on my way home from my apartment at school when a friend called. She needed a ride to her parents' house due to complications with her other ride situation. I didn't have to give her a ride, but I offered so that she would actually get home at a decent time.

Her house had the most fucked up driveway I've ever seen. The entrance from the street was shared with the next house, but the driveways were separate. Having never been there before, I noticed immediately that her driveway was far too steep--making almost a 45° angle with the ground--for my front bumper to clear, so I started to widen my turn to go past her driveway and into her neighbor's. Of course, I was also in a hurry to get out of the way of rush hour traffic, further complicating my ordeal. As I was pulling in, I began to tighten my turn to avoid the gigantic boulders on the other side of the driveway when I hear "crrruuuuuuunnnnch!". Fuck. The purposeless 6" tall concrete median between the two driveways introduced itself to my passenger side undercarriage.

And of course, she was outside waiting for me, and said nothing as I was pulling in. As if putting a 16" scrape in my car wasn't fun enough, the 2 hour car ride with her (which normally would take only 1 hour) through the flooded bayou once known as I-94 sure topped off my day.

That's rough! Ever think about WW or SS sideskirts?
That sucks, I would go with some GT sideskirts.
Ouch. It could be worse... I agree with everyone else, the best way to cover that up would be to pick up a set of sideskirts.
Yeah, side skirts are a definite possibility, but still, it's another unexpected expense :( I was trying to hold on to my money this summer so I can finally get my car tuned and get it to its fullest potential, but now I have to fix up the body first. Even if I go the side skirts route, I would assume I would need to paint the scrape so the metal doesn't rust? :dunno:
Yeah, get the area where the scratch is cleaned up and apply some anti-rust paint of other sort of treatment to keep it from rusting. Then you can put the side skirts on the car to cover the scratch.
To bad rob. Hope you can get it fixed and get some GT sideskirts on it. Hope to see you at B2NX.
not as bad as mine!!!

Thanks Kevin. GT sideskirts would probably look pretty sweet, I'm possibly buying Jeff's old ones. I'm sure it'll be good as new long before B2NX rolls around ;)

Dude Eric, when the hell did that happen? It must just be a bad month for GLR's
ouch! yea I've had my share of scratches on my front and sides from people's steep driveways that I thought wouldn't scratch
that was back in September. It does not look as bad, but remember i have side skirts, under it it was all F'ed up.
