The last few pictures are what she used to look like with the Sportlines and 18" American Racing Casinos. I sold the rims and still looking to sell the springs. Right now she is on stock wheels and tires but am getting new wheels after Christmas.

What she has for now:
20% tint on d/p windows 5% on rear and quarter windows
eBay cold air intake (I know it's cheap! and the engine bay is dirty lol)
Yellow Top battery
Alpine IVA-D300 7" touchscreen in-dash
Alpine iPod Adapter integrated with in-dash
Kicker ZX750.1
Tsunami Competition Capacitor
3 10" MTX Thunder 5500 subs in ported SledgeHammer enclosure
SilverStar HID Headlights

Future plans:
20" MPW102s (this Friday)
Headers (maybe)
Leather Seats
Upgraded CAI
6K HIDs (this weekend)

Not bad, not bad. I like those subs actually, i've got 2 in my Strat, how do you like the 3?..

Oh, and get a bottle or two of degreaser and go to town on your engine bay, looks good though, keep it up.

Lookin good! I would go with the Kicker ZX1000.1 if you can swing it (since the 5500's are rated at 300W RMS a piece). Also get some larger speaker wire to run from your amp to the box (at least 12 GA). And THANK YOU for going with a quality in-dash, rather than settling for all the crap jensen's that have been flooding the market. +rep for that!

Thanks for the comments guys. I realize the Kicker may sound underrated but in fact the 750.1 actually puts out around 950 wrms at 2 ohms so it is a near perfect match for the subs (the 1000.1 will actually put out around 1200 wrms). I have 4 guage wire which I believe is big enough. The only step up is 1/0 guage and I think that would be over kill. Oh wait I just realized what you are saying. Speaker wire from the amp to the box. Ok yeah I will definitely look into that. Thanks for the tip.

Quick question, have you ever had your DB rated? I'm curious how 3 5500's would sound, being that I have 2 in the "loudest box on the block" package from Sound advice (rip off, oh well).

No. I just got this setup not too long ago. I found it at a great deal brand new on CraigsList (it's probably hot but oh well). After Christmas, as you read I plan to get the Kicker for it to properly supply enough wattage and I bought like a 10 farad Tsunami cap off CraigsList for $50. I know it is over kill but it was only $50. Once I get this hooked up I would be very interested in getting it tested. My old setup was 3 10" Kicker CompVRs in a sealed box and now this setup blows its doors off. It was so loud I had to turn the gain down to 0, the subwoofer level on the hu to 0, and install the bass knob so I could put it all the way down! I turn it up every now and then but it gets too loud inside the car lol.

Yeah, I feel the same about my two, they're pretty good for what they are, I am however consdiering upgrading to L7's in the future, or something of the nature, maybe save up enough money and go with a W7 or two..

Get 2 12" Kicker CVXs. They are pretty much just round L7s. But I do like the square look. Either are good subs. Just make sure you spend money on the box. Get it custom built or do it yourself but make sure it's exactly the same dimensions that Kicker calls for. Same with the W7s. Great subs but expensive considering the amp needed and a custom box built down to JL specs. IMO, I would go with the L7s or CVXs. Order them off eBay too to save lots of money. Also check out www.ecoustics.com's Car Audio forum. I learned tons of stuff over there about car audio and still consult them if I'm buying audio stuff. I'm 20la20 over there but rarely ever post.

haha they were very very small. another reason why I sold that setup. I'm getting 20s with hopefully much bigger tires.

Thats true. :twothumb: Good call.

1/0 is never overkill  Both NC[Spyder]GT and I have/had 1/0 in our 3G's. You can never go too big. I would definitely do the big 3 upgrade after you get the ZX750.1 in. I think 04GSNA did it in his 4g64 3G and made a thread about it. Check out the how-to and my write-up also.

He had trouble installing and intake, he'd have a seizure if he attempted the big 3 upgrade

Regardless, rather than spending money on big wheels that will make your car look goofy, you should have bought some KYB struts, and left the wheels and lowering. Im not a fan of all chrome, but those looked pretty good.

I thought your wheels looked great on the car style wise. Just small like you said. IMO that is the worst downfall on the Stratus. Wheel well gap. I had a 2001 Dark Garnet Red and got rid of it in 2003. Aftermarkets sucked at the time. More lack thereoff. 20's would actually look better and fill alot more. I had 18" ADR's and I wasn't happy with the look as well. Nonetheless, it looked fantastic IMO and would like to see what you get for or after Christmas. :yesway: :D

^ agreed! I'll look into the big 3 upgrade. And btw, I only had trouble with the intake because I had unfamiliar tools at my grandpa's house and had never done it before. Not to mention we had to do a little ghetto rigging with the eBay kit. It's getting old that you keep saying that. If I did it again it would take me 2 seconds.

Check out the new wheels I'm getting. The pic doesn't do them justice. They look alot better in the shop. I might post in the PS section to see if anyone will get me a pic.
