Hey everyone,

I'm having the wonderful P0401 CEL and I'm trying to clean out my EGR valve but I can't reach it. Is there any special way to unbolt it or reach it?

Before you go through the trouble. Test it to make sure it opens and closes with the car on in idle. You should be able to hear the idle change

I will say when my cars at idle I hear a hissing sound, could that just be a vacuum leak from the EGR?

Absolutely. Although there is no vscuum to the egr at idle , you could always manually operate it to ensure it functions.

I'll say this though. Go the auto parts and buy a couple feet of new vacuum
Line.
Remove them one at time , cut new one to size and install.
This fixed my issue I chased for 2 weeks
