Shift bushings very tight

I just have a quick question about the manual transmissions on the 3g eclipse...

I have driven many other cars including a z3, 3000gt, e36, etc. and every one of them had a rather light shifter feel, but my 3g eclipse has a very tight and bolt actiony shift feel, which, don't get me wrong, is great, but as a daily, it is a very heavy shifter feel, and almost a clunk into each gear. It feels healthy but I am wondering if there is any adjustability in the bushings or is that just how the 3g trans feel? Any help/insight is greatly appreciated

Maybe your linkage needs lubrication? Mine is a DD and it changes gears very easily and doesn't feel bolt action at all.
I'll try lubricating it... what kind of lubrication should I use? Also, excuse my ignorance, what does DD mean?
The linkage on the trans likes to seize up, it's extremely common on 3G's at this point. The seals on the pivot shaft are all aged and moisture gets in there and rusts the shaft so the bushings don't slide on it nicely. If you look under the battery tray at the shift linkage you'll see a little black cap. Under it is a 10mm nut, if you pull that off you can pull the linkage apart and you'll see the bushings in question. You can replace them or just clean the shaft up with a wire brush and put a dab of grease on it and it'll shift like a normal car again.

DD means daily driver

For smoother shifting:
--Replace the linkage bushings at the trans with some made by
Torque Solutions # TS-SCB-201
--Replace the shifter mount bushings to the ones made by Energy Suspension # 5.1102
--Use Redline MT-85 transaxle fluid
--Consider installing a short shifter
