I will add to arsenic post that make sure you know the thread pattern on the shifter for the knob. The person that had my car before me installed a short shifter and its been a pain to find a shift knob threaded correctly.
I found that with a short shifter my shifts were noticeably slower, required more force, and I missed gears much more frequently than ever before. Since I went back to stock the shifting experience has been perfect.
That being said, what would benefit you more is upgraded shifter bushings, I think I went with the hard plastic ones, metal is also an option but have heard 50/50 reviews that it's too harsh for a daily driver.
