Show your headlights day/night

I'm going to order a set of projectors with HIDs, and I'm more so interested in the dual halos with black housing but not 100% sure. So if you all have some non-factory headlights, post up some pictures so we can compare and see in one thread which ones look the best especially at night.

I've been wondering how well the Sonar Projectors with single halo match with the Hella Optilux 2500 Halo fog lights.

Any body have a picture of that combination with just the halos' on?

I've wondered that too. I plan on getting a set eventually when I have $300 to spare.
they match perfect, as soon as i get my car back together i will post pics.

also they have the same 4' halo round fogs on ebay that are the EXACT same thing as the hella's for alot less money..about $30 shipped.
here is a link for someone looking for a set. they are made exactly like the hella's in every way. i have had both.

(link just shows what they look like not ebay link)

i also done away with my hid kit i had on my sonars. i am much happier with high output hella bulbs (non coated). and i wanted my high beams back. i had a 6k color that looked nice but i wanted the true 100 watt high beams back. and i didnt want to mess up the hids by switching the low-high back and forth so i took them out.

i also placed 100 watt (non coated crap) H3's in my fogs. and have them to stay on with my high beams and the light output is way better than just hid lowbeams.

sure the color is always better with hids but i want to light up the road as much as i can. and i have ran this setup for a few months now with no problems with the wiring at all. i think alot of that has to do with cheap crap bulbs anyway.

I have heard the Dual Halos have very bad output along with a cut-off point.

they are not awful, just not as good as the sonars. if you paint them on the inside it gets rid of pretty much all the glare.

You shouldn't have to paint or do any modifications to a good set of headlights. If you are considering Depos or Sonars and it's been reported they are better in different ways compared to the dual halos, why waste the time? I had purchased the Duals before but I can't put my 2 cents in when comparing them to depos with HIDs, because i currently don't have HID's for the new headlights, but I can say once the HID's were installed on the Duals, I was not impressed. Also, the 'Halo' was terrible and actually would show through around the entire headlight housing.

i agree, you should not have to paint (unless you want to color match) to get a good set of lights. and yes the halo rings if you can actually call them that on the duals suck. they are not leds at all. but placing leds in them make them somewhat better.

but bottom line they are much better lights out now, either get the sonars if you want a halo ring or get a set of depo lights. IMO the sonar lights are the way to go as of now.

If you wanted to light up the road as much as you can, you would have stuck with HID's as they are brighter than ur 100 watt bs and the fact you had 6k instead of 4300 that I have, made you loose output.

The high beam you would have had regardless unless you screwed up the install. Yes switching back and fourth isn't great, but if you had HID's like you said, you shouldn't have a need for your highs.

It looks kinda funny in the pic, but it looks really good in person.

My old sonars before I put HIDS in them. Let me tell you, those HIDs were niceee

Pics are from 2006: a lot has changed since then so don't mention any of the flaws in my pictures, lol

low beam hids regardless of color temp is not going to be brighter than a good set of high beams. i know this for a fact.

no, i still had the high beams with my hids, but like i said i knew that switching alot (back and forth) was a no no for a hid kit.

as for the 100 watt bs. those are hella true 100 watt non coated crap. not that piaa 55=130 BS. i have had and tried both hids and bulbs. and hids are not so above and beyond like everybody thinks they are. the color is nicer but as far as being 5 times brighter like everybody thinks is bs.

i know 4300k is ideal for the most output. but i wanted my high beam back with the nice long narrow output. the low beam projector with what ever color temp in it was not as good or as bright as the high beams. thats why i took them out. and i am much happier with the output. people who say you dont need high beams after putting hids on your low beam side are crazy, they must have never had a good set of high beams before.

Are you trying to tell me you can get more light out of a filament, than a gas charged arc?

Go do your research online, because your going to be sadly mistaken and there will be more in here soon telling you how wrong that statement of yours was.

i dont go by research, i go by what lets me see better.

and yes my 100 watt hella bulbs in the high beam reflector owned my low beam hids in light output. the beam is much more narrow because thats the way your highs are supposed to be. but the beam goes out way more. so it lights up things in the distans better. common sense.

i know what people are going to say, and thats ok. i just know from my own experience that having both my lows and highs i see better. and you cant switch back and forth with hids unless its one of those h4 setups. i just think that most of the hid myth is because of the color difference. and people think they see better, much like the tinted blue bulb crap.

i will agree though that a 4300hid kit would be better than my 55-watt low beams as of now. but i also changed out the 55watt bulbs in my fogs for 100watt non coated bulbs as well. so that helps out some with that.
Wait we are not talking about a beam pattern. You pretty much said that HID isn't as bright as your 100 watt crap autozone bulbs.

Read what I bolded for you, then sit there until you can admit you are very wrong for even saying that. It has been done multiple times with numerous members. I have a H1 kit in my Sonars and can switch between my low beam projectors and high beam bulbs that came with the heads. So once again you are wrong, you do not need a H4 kit to have youe highs. That last comment made me question what you actually do know about projectors.

how many times do i have to say this? they are not blue tinted bulbs with fake watt output on them.. i KNOW the difference.

these are TRUE 100 watt H1 bulbs made be HELLA!

and i know the beam pattern is different thats what i said. a good set of high beam bulbs not cheap ebay blue crap. is going to be a better light output than just low beam hids.

thats what im saying.
