So, do you know for sure what it is?

Howstuffworks "What if I put sugar in someone's gas tank?"

Urban Legends Reference Pages: Sugar in the Gas Tank

Sugar won't kill the engine. It may clog a filter, but it won't kill the engine.

Still sucks that you have to deal with any of it at all, sorry to hear it -
Yep I had someone stick sugar in my old escort and when I pulled the tank all I found was the sugar in the bottom of the tank, of course this was after I had driven it for a week and didnt know anything was wrong until I went to put fuel in the car. Also they tried this on myth busters and just couldnt get the engine to fail.

Would it maybe be alright to run some fuel cleaner through there? Like the ones you see at walmart that guarntee better gas mileage to maybe flush it out?

hmm...if i was to do it, id get a 3-5gal hand tank dump in a full bag of sugar and fill the rest with water swoosh it around and pour that in thier tank....sigh im evil...or if in the winter...just straight water...maybe have it freeze over, now that would suck...

as stated in the article above " sugar does not dissolve in gasoline ",so anything put into the tank will just clean the rest of the system and not
touch the sugar.
if you know for sure that there's sugar in there and your afraid to drive it,
why not remove the rear seat and the fuel pump. You could now syphon
or use a hand pump - no sparks please - and remove the fuel and check inside. And if you still need to drop it, atleast it'll be lighter.

I'm sorry to hear about your issues. This is one of the main reasons I got a locking gas cap as one of my first purchases for my 3G.

nobody has the balls to pull a stunt like that around here. anyway a friend of mine had it happen in high school to his 90 something ZR2 pickup. didnt realize it and after a week it took a shit. Ruined the fuel pump, injectors, filter, and gummed up the fuel lines. so yea, driving it would be a bad idea

O and also get a locking gas cap
:agreed:

I got one! :wavey: I'm a paranoid MF'r... especially since neighbors stole my laundry.

I've got my old plastic fuel door if you'd like to buy it. PM me, and we could probably work something out.

????? Sure that it was sugar? That defies everything ever written about it, that sugar doesn't dissolve in gas. Why would his gas be different?
im almost 100 percent positive it was but maybe it was flour??? i dont think dissolving had anything to do with it because his whole fuel system was clogged... but who knows. that was a while ago

Well i feel bad man. One of my friends had something poured in their gas tank. We thought it was sugar, but it actually small pebbles from a drive way. He just dropped the tank and cleaned it out. If anyone wants to know(however i DO NOT CONDONE this) but you can pour bleach and the car will be totally destroyed from what i hear. It would rust everything out, well at least in a metal tank. However, we have plastic tanks. So we don't have to worry about that. Thank you Mitsubishi.
