Spark Plug Order

I just ran a diagnostic and it says that Cylinder 3 is misfiring. I have a 2002 Eclipse GS 4 Cylinder.

I read the manual given in this forum and it says:

The 4G64 (2.4L) engine is an in-line four cylinder engine. The cylinder numbers are assigned as 1-2-3-4 from the front of the engine (timing belt side). This engine is fired in the order of the 1, 3, 4 and 2 cylinders.

So does it go 1, 2, 3, 4 from left to right (standing in front of the car facing the engine), or does it go 1, 3, 4, 2 from left to right?

Thanks in advance.

Cylinder three is the third one from left to right, but the second one to fire. That's what its saying.

Thanks.

Now if I could only get the spark plug out. I could not pull it by the boot, it just slipped off.

Should I fool with trying to grab onto the hard plastic sleeve with some pliers or just take it to a mechanic to just change out all 4 spark plugs?

92K and the original spark plugs are still in use.
