Hey, I'm installing a system in my 2002 GS, it's got the stock Infinity HU in it still. i hooked up a wire from my amp to my HU, thinking it was the remote turn on. The amp powers up when I turn on the car and everything, and the subs work just fine. the problem is, if i turn off my radio, my amp doesn't turn off. resulting in my subs humming a constant frequency at a painful level. I couldn't find diagrams online ANYWHERE, i've searched on here already. still nothing. I went to Best Buy's car audio installation, cuz it's all thats around here. and that guy told me theres not even a remote wire that EXISTS in my head unit. he only told me that, didn't check.

So does anyone know, is there a remote turn on wire in the back of my HU or not? if so, what color is it? (the wire i spliced originally is white w/black stripe.)

if there isn't a remote turn on wire, how can i make it so my amp turns off when my radio turns off, so that my amp doesn't hum like that? The only thing i can think of is putting a toggle/push switch on the current "(not so)remote" wire that i have running to the amp. would that work or not?

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me with this.

(on a sidenote, what do you find to be the best hook up for your Ground cable?)

hijacker, i dont want to add a remote turn on wire. i just wanted to know if there was one on the stock HU. because I was told different things, both by Club3g "seniors" or watever u wanna call them. and also different audio places. so i wanted a simple answer, if anyone knew. as for BlackEclipse, thanks for the answer. its what i kind of figured, but thanks for confirming it.

plus, that garage post says STOCK DIN cable. which confused me even more because that says i have a remote turn on in there. which it didnt. and i've since talked to an audio specialist who actually knows wat the hell theyre talking about, and says the stock hu doesnt have a remote turn on. and that a simple toggle switch on my "remote" wire, which i tapped to the constant 12v in the radio, will do the job. so i want my radio/amp off, switch the toggle off and turn off the radio. much easier than buying a 30 to 40 dollar line out converter.
