I have a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and last week it just decided to stop running, when I push on the gas my baby just dies and when I don't push on the gas she will stay running just for a moment but the rpm goes crazy, I have checked the battery and it's good even tho something is also draining it at times(thinking a ground wire somewhere), alternator passed the test, fuel pump turns on and the only codes it's throwing off is P0123 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit High Input. Please help and Thank You

Replace the throttle position sensor to find out if that keeps the vehicle running correctly and after replacing the sensor with an OEM sensor. Disconnect the battery for two hours to clear the code and restart the ECM so that it will reset the RPMs affecting the throttle. I would clean the IAC sensor, MAF, and MAP with throttle body cleaner. If you can remove the throttle body to clean it, if the vehicle does not stay running. After resetting everything then find out if there is enough fuel presure to the throttle body from the fuel presure regulator on the back side of the motor. You will need to run fuel injector cleaner in the fuel because of the varnish buildup caused by the fuel, which will gum up your sensors. Chemtool B-12 has the highest rating for cleaning the injectors. You need to run an extra negative cable on your battery to the frame and motor, along with trying to find out how much of a discharge from the battery is going on while the vehicle is off. It is OK to clean the throttle body while it is on the vehicle but SEA FOAM suggest it is done while the vehicle is running.
