You can do it the hacksaw and sledge hammer way or you can do some planning first. The choice is yours. I am using 225/45X17's on 17X8.5" rims. I am at stock ride height, but with this tire and rim configuration I could lower it a couple of inches and I don't think it would rub. Some careful planning goes a long way.
