I have been on the FI forums for 2 years now, but have never heard of this question asked or anything. Does a Turbo Timer help the SDS any, could there bearings seize up just as a turbo would?

I don't think its necessary at all, as the SDS isn't heated like a turbo from exhaust gas temperatures. Heck, if it were a "MUST" cars would come with it stock., like the EVO or other turbo'd cars

Not necessary at all for the SDS. An oil cooler before the oil inlet of the Vortech wouldn't be a bad idea, though.
