Upper Timing Belt Cover Cracked. Help please!

Hey guys,
Without boring you guys with details, I have a cracked upper timing belt cover (closest to the rear bank valve cover) on a 2005 3.0 liter that I need to change. I've tried searching for anything that would involve removing this thing, but all I've been able to find was for a timing belt change. Is it really necessary to pull the crankshaft pulley and disconnect the passenger side motor mount and all that good stuff, or is it easier than I'm making it. Is it tucked underneath the lower timing belt cover? I'm going to be tackling this in about 11 hours, so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

You'll have to remove your power steering belt to remove that cover, because it goes behind its adjustable pulley.
Darn! I thought so!

Ya, I kind of thought it looked that way, but I couldn't tell looking at the replacement cover or the engine. Anywho, Thanks a lot! At least I have a pretty good idea what I need to do now. Any idea how long it would take an average, mechanically inclined person to change that cover for their first time? Thanks a lot!

30 minutes.
pull off the wheel, the well cover, and drop loose the tensioner for your SMALLER belt.. Once that tensioner is removed, you'll have either 3 or 4 bolts in the cover.. Then you get to fight different angles to wedge it out.

I have 50 bones PP that it takes an hour and he posts back asking how to take off that splash shield.

If you are familiar with tools 'n such, you should be alright. GL!

You cut the plastic screws off and throw them in the garbage.
Well, thanks for the help! I'm off to see the wizard, or some sh** like that! Nah, I actually know how to do the wheel well liner, obviously, as I did just remove the intake manifold and valve covers. I just wanted to get an idea of what needs to be done before I go out to do it! I don't really trust my chilton, because all it ever says is for the 2.5 V6, and the 3.0 is "similar". Anywho, thanks for the help! I really appreciate it!

Oh man!!!

Well,
The timing cover is on. Thanks for the help. Now, I've got a coolant leak from somewhere in the throttle body area (actually sprays out, but not when I'm under the hood looking). And, when I go WOT from idle, or really accelerate suddenly, it stumbles for a second, and then all is well. Gotta figure that one out too! Anywho, thanks for your help guys! I should be able to find the causes of these problems!
