My uncle has a friend that wrecked a 1985 Kawasaki Ninja 600 a little while back. We were talkin about it the other day and my uncle said at one time he was selling it for $125 because he wanted to get it out of his sight. I told him we should buy it and see if it is worth fixing. As far as we know the engine wasnt damaged in the wreck. We figured even if it wasnt worth fixing we could part the good parts on the bike out and get our 125 bucks back.
Anyways, we are calling him tomorrow to see if he still has it. Hopefully he does. I will post pictures of how bad it looks if he has it and we pick it up.

For $125 I would say go for it as long as it dosent look like a pancake. Like you said worst case scenerio you part it out.

Luckily, the guy still had it. We went and picked it up and brought it home.
The frame is bent a little on the back. Fairly sure it will bend back like we want it. Most of the fairings are gone. The wheels are in decent shape. It still has a gauge, which is probably worth what we paid for the bike. The wiring seems good. The man said as far as he knows the motor will turn over, but he wasn't positive. The carburetors were uncovered, so we are gonna have to tear it apart and clean the gunk out of it.
For $125 I don't think you can do much better.
I will get pictures soon.

We got a little work done on it today. We stripped all the plastic and wires. It is down to the frame and engine. Tomorrow we are gonna try to turn the engine over and probly drop it out of the frame. If we have problems with the engine and cant seem to diagnose them, we are probly gonna part it out. I got my fingers crossed.

Today we attempted to remove the plugs. There was rust all around them so we had to chip around the edges just to get a socket on them. Well, once we got the socket on them and tried to break them loose, they literally broke. Two plugs were removed without any problem and took were broken at the threads. :rant2:
We put some penetrating oil in all four wholes and tomorrow we plan to see if the engine will turn over like the guy we bought it from said it would. If it does, then we will worry about getting the other halves of the plugs out.
