Please help.
My 2000 eclipse RS failed SMOG ( I live in California). The problem was not the emissions but the TAP test. Meaning they let the car idle for a minute and then they TAP the accelerator. When the tester TAPPED the accelerator a HUGE cloud of white smoke came out of the tail pipe. The following is work done so far.
1. There was some Head Gasket leaks so fixed those. Expensive.
Also changed radiator cap and thermostat.
2. There was water pump leak. fixed. Done with the Head gasket repairs.
but the car still emits white smoke when I do the TAP test. Please help. Has anyone run into this?
