well winters right around the corner. im looking at numerous winter tires. NOT all season. Im buying stock rims to dedicate specifically to winter. now i just have to figure what i wanna wrap them with. No i drive mostly highway. not very far. Anybody living in new brunswick knows what im talking about. But i also have to be able to make it to the mointain to snowboard so i need something that reallly grips. I was looking at studded. But the ride sucks, and they dont last as long i hear. and there illegal which isnt a big deal but still. no need for a ticket just incase the cops a dick. So please let me know what you drive with in the winter. I do hear the blizzaks are sick but i want other opinions. Thanks

I've used the Dunlop Wintersport M3's and the Wintersport 3D's on my Eclipse and Blizzak WS-50's and WS-60's on my TSX. Between the 3 tires that are still available for sale (the WS-50's have been discontinued), the WS-60's are the best for ensuring stability in scary situations and the M3's (despite being ridiculously heavy) and the 3D's, since they're both considered Performance Winter tires rather than Studless Ice and Snow like the WS-60's, just don't grip as well in deep snow and icy conditions.

go on tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com and look at their winter tires and how they are rated and that should have enough info for you to make a decent decision
Not necessarily. Unless TireRack themselves did a fact-based comparison test between different tires, all of the reviews on there are solely opinion based. I used those opinions when I decided to purchase Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's since nearly 98% of those opinions said that they worked fantastically on snow and ice-covered roads. Needless to say, I was horrified by how badly they performed not only on snow and ice-covered roads but in any conditions when temperatures dropped below 30 degrees.. You can't always rely on the opinions of others.

My choice would be the Blizzaks. Take it from me who lives in the snow belt, they work great and will give you good response under snowy conditions.
