I have a DSL connection on a 4yr old home-built computer. I have it hooked up w/ an ethernet cable. I just got a ps3, and need a wireless router for online gaming, and possibly a 'laptop' connection for my daughter. What the hell do I exactly need? I've been looking and am totally lost. It's too far for a wired connection to the ps3, and I don't need the 'mac-daddy' set up either.

Ideas???

Suggestions???

Thanks :) from a wireless noobie

1. Buy a wireless router.

2. Follow the instructions in the owner's manual to setup your wireless access point.

3. If your daughter's laptop doesn't have built-in wireless access, you'll need to get a Wi-Fi card or USB Wi-Fi adapter. (If you want to use wireless on your computer and don't have wireless access, you'd have to get one for yourself, too. But since your wireless router is likely going to be in the same area as your DSL modem, which is probably close to your computer, you can probably just run a Cat-5 cable from the router to your computer.)

4. Follow the directions in your PS3 manual to set up wireless for it.
