WTB: Spyder Light Bar

Looking for a Spyder Light Bar as seen below. If the price is right then condition wont matter (I would simply wrap it in suede or CF) but if you want a premium for it then condition needs to be flawless. Let me know your price and its condition if you have one available. Thx!
:wavey:

Also, if you know where to purchase a new one at a good price then please advise! The only place I am aware of at the moment is DeftRacing which is where I got the above photo. They charge $429 for a brand new one.

Thank you much! +repped! I couldn't recall what CDC stood for... I'd prefer to order directly from them before going through a reseller seeing the price is the same.

If anyone has a used one just post your price. I'll wait a week or so to see if anything is available before ordering a new one. Gotta have one before summer is over though :hspin:

Here is another pic just for shitsngiggles:

BTW, if the bar is in great condition then I will need it to be black. A tan bar would need to be recovered for my car so it may as well be ripped or have cig burns in it.

Finding one of these used would be like finding a pot of gold.
do not wrap in suede, it will get dirty. wrap in carbon and apply a few thick coats of resin and it will be deep glossy and SEXY.
Call them and see what kind of deal we could get if we got a few buyers

:agreed: Mine would get covered in dust after just one day of driving.
Very interested. This is a mod I have been always interested, but was always to involved in other projects to get to. If you guys get them to make a group buy for us, count me "IN" 100000%
I like the idea of saving with a group buy but I can't wait more than a week. I need this thing wrapped and installed before my next beach trip (2 weeks from now). If anyone wants to check in on a quick group buy then count me in but I really can't wait long!
NC, make sure you have the proper metal hole saw for when it arrives.. I don't remember the size though. 1 3/4 inch I think it was? That is about the only tool you will need (besides a drill). Make sure have plenty of shop towels around also. When I was drilling, the metal shavings went EVERYWHERE in the car. Some even stuck to the seatbelt strap. Then, I had to take it all apart because the shaving fell in there and was getting stuck.
Install is simple as pie, but the clean up will take longer unless you tape a bunch of towels together and tape them to strategic parts in the car. Then throw them away when you are done as the metal shavings will get stuck in every little piece of fabric.

Jabber: Outstanding advice! many thanks +repped. :wavey: I know all about metal shavings (and wires) from 1st hand experience (OUCH) so I will trash the rags and vac after, and probably during, the drilling process!

Anyone know if you have to paint or somehow seal the freshly cutet edges of the chassis? Not sure if rust could be an issue there...

I will remove the rear panels and speakers (STRONG magnets on them) and I will seal off that area with drop cloth (plastic) and tape. I have the instruction manual somewhere (always knew I would install one of these) so the bit/hole size should be listed :yesway: I will definately be wrapping this is silver "CF". Should match the hood nicely :dunno: Now if I could find a silver CF trunk that didn't require a 2nd mortgage LOL

I sure hope this CF job comes out ok... I've done minor FG'ing but this is my 1st CF wrap, wetsand and clearcoat major job :scared: I will be practicing on smaller pieces 1st though to make sure I have the resin/MEKP mix though.

BTW, any1 know where to find MEKP locally? No luck @ Ace/TruValue. I'm doubting Autozone... HD or Lowes maybe?

After I drilled, I slapped on some of that paint that turns rust into primer. The bottom edge of the bar covers the hole completely, so you don't have to be perfect. In reality, the metal part that it gets drilled into isn't painted/primed anyway, but I was being overly cautious.

Oh yeah, forgot about the speakers. DEFINITELY remove them. I ruined a pair because I was too lazy and some of the shavings got caught between the woofer and the case it is attached to. A few good hits of base and the shavings got pushed through the gasket material.
bumpskis....

Still looking

I found a used one but the vinyl has a few cuts/gashes in it so I guess I have no choice but to wrap it myself. However, it did not ccome with the mounting hardware. My main concern is finding the "T brackets" mentioned in the instructions as well as the drilling template. I'm sure I can find the bolts and washer myself.

Anyone know where I can find a drilling template and "T brackets" for my install??!?!?! I have contacted CDC but no word back yet.
GTplaya31 for $340 shipped about 70mi (IIRC) I thought the vinyl was in good condition but it arrived with a few slices and gouges in it. Still working with playa about it :dunno:

And I had assumed it came with the brackets (if not all mounting hardware). Its really just a paper weight until I can get brackets and templates for mounting. Still no word from CDC. I am screwed if they can't come through for me :angryazn:
Those brackets are specifically made for the eclipse the way they fit into the spot. Good luck getting them...
