Just a bit of an update. May 22 the dreaded wave washer left me on the side of I75 near the house. Tranny is at a local shop being rebuilt. Went ahead and snatched the motor out to change timing belt. Belt and pump had been changed somewhere in the past and didn't look terrible. Installed Gates TCKWP259BH timing belt kit (belt, idlers, water pump). Replaced all vacuum lines just cause they were easy to get to on the ground. Got the motor back in today, waiting on shop to finish tranny.
Back on the road finally. Took forever to get tranny back from shop. Fully overhauled, flushed cooler, new t/c, hd wave washer, 2-3 clutch drum upgrade (no 2-3 flare), 3/36000 warranty.
Note to future self, 10.1 quarts fluid.
That pic was from 2013. It soon started looking like a teenager' s car. She never wrecked it, just wouldn't keep wax on it, and the south Georgia sun killed the paint in short order. Did run good and used no oil.
