how do you guys even get back there with a breaker bar. i have to use two linked together wrenches to break the bolts loose and then there is just enough room back there to loosen the bolts. i have a RT so maybe its different for me??
We made a custom length breaker bar from a old ironing board. It worked pretty well, got all the bolts off. :twothumb:

Why does this topic come up every freakin week. Its not rocket science people. It's a simple Intake plenum. I could pull a heater core out of a 78 Cordova faster than some of you people can change plugs! Just don't go into it thinking it is so horible.

Every car is different, so it different from car to car how hard it is to get bolts off. Its not that its hard, its a hastle.

I guess I take for granted I always have the right tool for the job. It makes a difference. Still though, its an intake. Its not like your pulling a clutch.

Sometimes its having the right tools, just can't get enough leverage to use them  I need to get myself some air tools and a air compressor. Make my life so much easier. :twothumb:

it is NOT possiable to get a air gun (other then maybe a air ratchet) in there!! unless the r/t's and the eclipses are WAY diffferent.

Just try and remember, not everyone is going to be as mechanically inclined as you are. You have to remember maybe some people on here are looking to save alot of $$$ in labor by tackling this job and yes, its something physically they can do, but theres always going to be apprehension the first time. I would be fairly certain your first time for any major job you were a little intimidated or not too sure, so show just a little bit of compassion :) I dont blame others from asking advice and getting help on here. Ya, it would be much easier to let the dealer or shop do it for $500-$600.

Oh I understand you there, I guess I take some things for granted ;)

Yup, labor is the most expensive part of car modding. But, if you can do 90% of things yourself than you save a lot of $$$. Somethings such as transmission and internals most of the time have to get done by a shop, since an average joe wont have all the tools to even work on them. But, if you can do a lot yourself, you will save up thousands in the end.

Yes labor is expensive. Thats what keeps me in buisness :yesway: . Sometimes the best way to learn about a car though is to do it yourself. I'm always open to help someone out with thier car, but I won't do it for them. I like to see people learn what I know rather than pay me to just do it for them. I agree with you on transmissions though, LOL I have thousands of $ in tools just for doing engines and transmissions. Those are my two favorite things to build :twothumb:
