how realistic is 250 whp with my current setup

14b
pacesetter dsm manifold
vortec fmu
xs power intercooler
turbo xs bov
dsm ported 02 housing
2.5 inch intercooler piping
3 inch exhaust
450cc injectors
walbro 255
downpipe will be custom of course and im going with the ngk iridiums

this is what i have so far, im going to order my gaskets and oil lines from rre, plus of course a boost gauge and a/f gauge thats jumpy as shit

all im looking for is 250-300 whp because this is still going to be my daily

what problems do i have to look forward to with this setup?

car is a 2000 gs with almost 110k miles

If you have a 5speed 250whp should be attainable with that setup but I would definitely not expect more especially since you have no way of tuning the timing much less the fuel curve. If you have an auto/sporty maybe 220whp. Get a larger turbo and an Emanage and you will be able to reach 300whp with a 5speed or 265whp with an auto/sporty.

im assuming you mean that your a/f gauge is going to be narrow band. Why waste the money? how will you tune it without wideband o2 or/and egt?
+1
you need a wideband a/f gauge. The blinky gauge isnt going to do any thing for you. When doing a turbo setup cheaper isnt better especially if this is your daily driver. You want to get the most out of it. If you cant afford to get the right stuff then wait until you have all the cash for the good stuff before you put your turbo setup on.

the cash isnt really a big problem ill get the wideband and an safc, the reason im going with the 14b is because its coming with the o2 housing and some other goodies for a REALLY good price and yes its a 5 speed

By water they mean just any coolant line. I tapped mine off the throttle body. Like WhiteNight said, go with the 16g just because you'll be able to reach your 250 goal without maxing out the turbo. This will help with keeping it cool also.

There have been several guys on www.dsmtuners.com who have achieved well over 300whp on 14b's - I know of one specifically who ran 12 second quarters with a 14b.

It is a great turbo as it is, but it wont be as efficient as a 16g - meaning you'll be blowing hotter air.
yeah but judging by his fuel setup and tuning he wont be able to run any good mount of boost. I say the most he will see is somewhere around 220whp

Easier on a smaller displacement motor, the 4g64 will have that turbo running too hot. That's why the civic guys have such great success with them. I ran mine for a little while, after about 10psi the thing was steaming

You can plug and chug the calculations at :
http://www.stealth316.com/0-frames.htm

The 14b compressor map:
http://www.stealth316.com/images/td05h-14b-cfm.gif

My impression is that it would be a bit small for that HP goal and not as effecient as you'd want.

From the air and fuel calulators, a 2.4L engine at 1 bar of boost will consume around 400cfm and make around 300 crank HP. Match that cfm and pressure ratio on the compressor map and you will see it is on the 60 percent effecient line. You want to get closer to the middle of the map in the 70 percent range... like the big 16g is. More effecient compressors = cooler intake charges and safer power. Although good intercooling can make up for a lot.
