Ive been making a list of dsm parts that are compatable and interchangable. I seperated them by the way these would be wanted

1=Cars with Dual Piston front brakes
-2000 Eclipse GT
-1992-1996 Diamante Wagan and sedan
-1997-2004 Duamante
-1992-1999 Eclipse 4wrd with solid rear disc
-Feb 1998-2000 Galant v6
-1990-1995 3000GT SL model

2=Cars with same calipers as a 2000-2001 Eclipse 4cyl
-Febuary 1998-2001 Galant 4cyl

3=cars with same calipers as a 1995-1995 eclipse Non Turbo
-1995-1999 2wd turbo Eclipse
-1995-2000 Dodge Avendger
-2001-2004 Strarus 4cyl coupe
-1995-2004 sebring 4cyl coupe

4=cars with same calipers as a 2002-2004 eclipse 4cyl or 6cyl
- June 2000-2001 Galant v6
-2002-2004 Galant's
-2001-2004 Stratus v6 coupe
-2001-2004 Sebring v6

rear calipers are all compatable from above vehicles except sebrings(they have a smaller brake not worth swapping)

Brake lines are also compatible from all vehicles, if you are going for a stainless kit, id use a 95-99 eclipse turbo 2wd set.

I made this because I think we should start to check junkyards for cheap upgrade options for brakes. I will be checking my local junkyards for any upgrades and posting my findings, maybe some will be for sale so keep checking and good luck with these brakes!

will all these fit my 2002 rs the front and back? i'm planning to do this convertion an want to know if this mod would be worth wild. to anyone who has done both front an rear conversion. has this been a good upgrade did it last.
if this is a dumb question just ignore, but if you got good feedback from it please let me know. im trying to bring alittle life back into my old eclipse an make it fun again, by working on it an doing as many diy as i can. thx

went to the junk yard today and found 5 sets of dual piston brakes, ohh get ready people for a geat for sale
for anyone considering them, it is totally worth it. they look better, and "feel" better during heavy braking. i love mine. just remember: you need the correct rotors too.

yes, goodbuds, totally worth it. my car came with single pistons up front, and drums in the back, i LOVE the dual pistons up front, and disks in the rear. cheap upgrade, and you really nothing more then that on a street car. a BBK is only really needed on track/show cars.

my dual pistons are from a 2000 GT, and rear disks are from a 2g eclipse.

i thought it was discussed that the dual piston brakes are not any better than the single piston???

it was debated. essentially they are close, but on HEAVY braking (like in autocross) they duals have less fade. plus they look better. there is just more dang surface area, but essentially a little less pressure. i know i can feel a difference... but i might be based since i took out worn out single pistons, and put in all new pads, and rotors when i did my swap.

:agreed:

They are the left overs from the GSX days.

what about a big brake kit from a 95-99 2g eclipse? I was told by someone that they would be a bolt on deal but I am skeptical. I can get a set for $900. 12.75" rotors with Wilwood 4 piston calipers, pads, and ss lines.

Being, I believe, the only Wilwood brake kit supplier to take a swing at the 3G and 4G cars I can tell you without question that trying to retro fit a TCE/Wilwood 2G kit onto a 3G car up front will not work. Both the brackets and the hat offset requirements are different.

The rear kits however are a different story; they're all the same for 2,3,4G apps.

Four Month thread revival, but i have a question about the sebring read brakes. I went to the junkyard and got my rear conversion off a 97 sebring LXi. This thread states that the rear breakes are smaller than any others?? But isnt the sebring and the avenger the same car just different body and name???

Alright since this thread was already bumped (made it easy to find  )I thought I would throw my question in there. What is the difference in the two rotors? Because I have a big rotor kit up front with 12" rotors. I also got a set of all 4 Diamante calipers with the dual piston for the fronts. I was planning on putting the dp's up front with the big rotors. Will this still work now?

The Sebring and Avenger are basically the same car and there is no size difference on the rear brakes. They are all the same size regardless which car on the list you get them from.

whew thank-you for confiming this, i was a little panick

"rear calipers are all compatable from above vehicles except sebrings(they have a smaller brake not worth swapping)"

So this quote from the original post is incorrect????

Maybe the op was comparing brakes from a Sebring sedan or Sebring convertible. Those would not be the same. The 1995-2005 Sebring coupe are the same.

The 1995 Eclipse had a little bit different setup but your chances of coming across that setup is very slim. They had vented rear rotors. It's a highly sought after setup within the 2g crowd.

I just gotta find some rotors that don't freakin warp after a week.

Fwa. 00 GT and I have no cheap upgrades... 600$ for a set of evos. Hawk pads and power slot slotted rotors. Oh the future...

What's with the 95 setup you mentioned Daes? what makes it different other then vented rotors?
