I was flipping through the pics on the internet of the old supercars and thought of the idea for our cars.Older Ferraris,Lambos, jags had that aluminum Shift gate pattern. Pictured Below:

I was thinking if anything similar could be made for our cars and Is there anybody that tried doing it. I need your guys opinion of how hard can it be to do it and how it would look on our cars.

Thanks,

I tried it on my miata back about 2 years ago or so...never got it working, it was too hard because my short-throw shifter was way too short!

I was thinking the same thing. Could anyone do a photoshop?
Why photoshop it? It's going to look exactly the same.

It can definitely be done, would require some modification to the center console of course and most likely would only work with the OEM shifter for height. I personally think it would look pretty ridiculous. It's a Mitsubishi Eclipse, not a Ferrari.

This is something Hijacker could produce if you got enough interest. You'd have to carefully measure where the gates would have to be. I don't think I'd like it. I'd be concerned about stuff falling down into gaps.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP. The eclipse is not a supercar. Just wouldn't look right IMO. Interesting idea tho. Would make your car unique.

I think it could look cool.
I've always wondered why the super cars have it anyway.
I've never driven a car with a hard boot like that but I don't see how it would aid in faster shifting or anything.
