Whats the main differenace in performace wise the V2 and the regular one?

lowest price you will find on AEM intakes. If you find lower, the site is probably about 3 years old with old pricing!

If you want a lower price, go short ram with Weapon-R or the other companies.

 

You still didn't answer my question. What is the MAIN difference. Give me your sales pitch why I should buy the more expensive one.

yeah, if the ebay cold air do the samething, why not buy one of those and save yourself 180 bucks or more?

 

Here you go V2 CAI vs Regular CAI:

The AEM V2 utilizes a dual chamber (using two different diameters and lengths of piping) that creates multiple frequency sound waves to produce the largest area under the curve of any intake system on the market. These sound waves help charge the cylinders with more air throughout the entire rpm range and are what enables the V2 to outperform even our own Cold Air systems.


As far as ebay intakes, feel free to try them, but if you want looks, performance, quality, and not to mention..a product that fits correctly.. AEM, Injen, and Weapon-R are the products to buy.

 

for $269 I could buy a new nitrous kit off ebay. 3hp vs. 50hp?????

So about how much more power will the extra 50 dollars give you?

 

I am not sure as AEM does not have dyno sheets for these specific models. I would recommend searching the performance forums as I am sure there are members with AEM intakes.

 

i was in advance auto parts yesterday and the V2 in there is 289.98..so you actually would save a lil bit money buying one Dan. I checked ebay and the prices are right along the same line once you pay for shipping. So if you're going to buy one, here is probably the best place.

Thanks for getting back to me. But I the numbers mean more than the describtion of it. But thanks though. My machanic for over 40 years said, a pipe is a pipe and they do the exact same there. But the filters it does matter. Good luck with the sells.

 

For people to know. I have had the AEM intake, and I hit a bump and the bottom part fell off, and I ran over it. So I did buy a cheap cold air intake from ebay for the short time. And I see no difference in sound or performance.

 

okay unless you intend to purchase the item, there really isn't a reason to hijack my thread....

Go into the performance forums and parts opinions and you will find plenty of horror stories on ebay intakes; i guess you just found the right one..

I'm sorry, I do believe that AEM makes the best intakes on the market...i own one....it has better sound, fitment, and build quality...

But....is this the dyno sheet that AEM does not provide???

In short, the V2 does not provide any significant gain over the original.

...and to answer all those who ask why buy an expensive intake instaed of an ebay knock off...the same reason you drive an Eclipse instead of a turbo'd honda civic...go for quality...not cheap power...

 

there you go, data and the largest gains. The GT V2 was actually dyno'ed with an exhaust and had a smaller gain than the orig. Cold Air System!
