I still dont get how thieves are getting past the engine immoblizer system in these cars to get them to run without the registered key...

 

Well if it was a professional theif he probably had every damn key in the book with him, the key with the chip doesnt have to be in the ignition just in the vicinity of the steering column so the sensor picks up the signal. Not for nothing but there is no way that mitsu has a different code for each car, granted they may have like 200 codes, but if u got 200 keys then whats the difference. Not to mention that you can get around that immobilizer shit just by rewiring it, all the sensor in the column does is tell the ECU "Yes its a good key, start" Or "no its a theif dont start" Once you get around the sensor your scott free, the new hondas have the same immobilzer technolody and those things get plucked left and right

You can't just use any eclipse key with a chip in it. I went to RIPPs and he swapped out my ECU and it wasn't the problem so they put the stock one back. He flashed the key so that it would work with my ECU. Now my other key. that worked fine with the exact same ECU when I got the car no longer works because the ECU was flashed once. I have one working key and one not. So if I can't even use the key that came with this ECU until it is flashed to work with it. Then how could any eclipse key work?

So far they are just investigating dropped me and my truck, dropped my sister off the policy and thats about all they have done.

I actually LOVE insurance companies as they have replaced 3 cars and a burnt down house with all contents for me. Make sure to get a GOOD insurance company next time and not the cheapest.

That said, if your car is found to be stolen then they will give you the money I imagine. Of course they have to investigate and you should thank all the people who put in faulty claims for that. It has to look suspisious to them seeing as they didn't have your key. Some insurance companies also drop you after the first claim which completes f*cks you but they should pay out in the end. Make sure to get a good insurance company this time. Liberty Mutal is AMAZING (at least they have been for me) and my roommate has had to put 3 claims thru State Farm this year and his rates haven't raised.

Well got word from allstate today Apparently they do cover everything in my car and will just have to come up with a price for it all now.

Im jsut tyring to piece the car back together now. The car has a totalled title even though it only needs about $1000 in stock equipment to make it complete.
