I'm baaaack. Sorry guys. I've been buying stuff for my new place like mad so I've been holding off on un-needed purchases like internet, cable, etc. Who knew stuff like curtains were so damn expensive! Anyway, I figured this would be a good thread to hop back in on. As for me, no recent car mods and none planned for a while. Re-gapped the spark plugs and reset the RIPP grey box. I've been running a bit better but not perfect yet. Greg, I may yet still need your help.
Lucas: I still have the intake in my garage. I'll keep it until you can wrangle up a few bucks. No hurry. Let me know if you don't want it so I can put it up on the for sale forum.
SethVicous: About you puchasing an Evo. I've been toying with the idea of looking into a second car...one being an Evo. One thing to check out is how much your insurance is going to skyrocket. I'm 25 and mine was going to just about double over my current rate with a 2001 GS. I'd definately purchase from a private party versus a dealership. When I was looking around, Quality Mitsubishi almost made me sick. They are grossly overpriced and their staff of slime ball sales men are amazingly underknowledged. If you're set on getting one and can hold off, I've noticed that a lot more Evos, STIs, etc are up for grabs in the spring and summer. Not sure why but when I was out in Cali just recently, there were a TON of them for sale. My guess is that area of the country had a lot of sales. If you need the name of someone to ship your car, let me know. I used the guy who ships all of H M Brown's cars and he was great. No problems and a resonable price.
EDIT: Seth, one more thing. A cheaper alternative to a STI is a basic WRX with a Cobb stage 1 or stage 2 kit. You can pick up a good conditioned 2002 WRX for ~15k-16k. The Cobb set plus a 3" exhaust (required for best hp/torque gains) will set you back about 2k. Insurance will still see a WRX but you'll have the hp/torque of a STI or EVO.
http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=2315 check Check out that site. Pretty badass. PS They recently added a 'coming soon' section for Evos.
