front door panel removal

Hi there ,

I just wanted to let you know before hand , i dont own a eclipse i own a cobalt SS but im an installer and and my customer has a 02 eclipse GS and i need to remove the door panels to replace his stock speakers . is there someone who can give me a detailed desciption on how to achieve this rear speakers would be nice too any help is apreciated.

If you are an installer, then it is nothing that you haven't already seen. If I remember correctly, just remove the screw in the door handle. The panel is secured around the outer edge with push pins, so pull out around the outside. Place your hands at the bottom of the panel and pull up.

That should do it.

Odd. I took all my panels out a few days ago and mine were actually held in by screws.

Hey thanks alot , for some reason i was thinking you had to unclip one of the ends of the verticle handle and there was a screw , but that i think about it i think that was in a mini cooper :nuts: thanks for the advice also im thinking the rear seat you have to take out and theres a bolt there holding the rear side panels on correct? or is that on the 2nd gen eclipse ?

There are two screws, one on either side of the door panel, that need to be removed. Remove the door handle bezel and the power window controls. Pry the bottom, working your way up. Then lift the panel off. Also, if there is a tweeter mount behind the mirror, remove this as well. It will make it easier to remove and reinstall the door panel.
