FUEL LINES / FPR.

some of you may have upgraded you fuel lines to braided stainless steel w/ aeroequip fittings.

I believe the hose size needed is -6an (8.7mm).

My problem is, how the hell do you get the high pressure fuel hose installed onto the fuel rail? do we have some sort of fuel rail adapter with a barbed end? Will the fuel rail adapters made for a 4g63t 2g/1g car fit our fuel rail on the FEED side of the fuel rail (i know aai makes one for the side where the FPR is)?

Also, does anyone know how i can replace the hose at the rear end (that comes out of the barbed top end of the swirl pot where the fuel pump sits).
I mean how does a braided ss hose fit on a barbed end? is that even possible? Also do you all know where that hose runs to.. (does it go underneath the car and attach to a steel line?) how long is the current stock rubber hose approx?

one more thing. is our stock fuel pressure regulator boost referenced -- does it need to be replaced with an fmu if i'm using 450cc/min injectors w/ an e-manage?

i was looking at my fuel pressure gauge, and it doesnt seem to raise pressure at all under boost. -- only changed when vacuum does.. so what should i replace it with?

another major question is this, i want to use an inline pump that i have in hand here.. it's one of those msd 255lph inline pumps. i was wondering if it was okay to get rid of the stock in-tank pump, and replace it with a rubber hose.. and then mount the inline pump right at the end of the rubber line outside of the swirl pot? i'd also put an inline filter right before the fuel rail to compensate for the filtering.. cause obviously i'd have to remove the filter out of the swirlpot.. otherwise there'd be a problem picking up any fuel.

please don't suggest a walbro 255lph in-tank pump either, i have one.. and i'm losing pressure on the top end cause that frigging pump is too BIG, and the fuel sock is stuck right into the reservior tank, if you know what i mean. I think this is causing the pump to be starved. so i want to use a better method, and that's why i got the inline pump.


any suggestions/comments/help would be REALLY appreciated.

they are an6 they make like nothing for a an4 and for the thing about ur pressure regulator is because regular regulater are made for none boosted cars and they are only designed to change under vacumm( because their is no boost in reg cars), u need a rising rate regulator that increasing under boost and vacuum

the car is is an -6. The odd thing is my vortech fmu is #4. I am having a weird Fuel issue too now. I thought it was a bad Fpr but ir eplaced it with a SX high performance 1:1 fpr and new hoses etc. When i hit hte gas the fuel pressure drops. When i turn the car off it sinks instantly. There is no pressure held in the line. I thought it was bad FPR but i was wrong. Sooo, i am thinking either a leaky injector or bad fuel pump.

definately a bad fuel pump install. you can test the injectors by measuring the resistance. but i highly doubt it's your injectors. you probably have a broken seal or improper install of fuel pump -- that was my problem.

i went with -6 all around. earls recommends if your feed is -6 , return should be one size smaller.. so -5.

my return is -4 ;) it goes into the FMU :) The gromett was broken on the fuel pump once already. You ever have any luck with the inline idea ?

with the inline thing.. it's knida complicated.. the "Best" way to make it work is use a fuel cell with a sump built in with bulkhead an fittings out of it.. and connect it to your pump.. and run ss lines throughout
the aeromotive inline pump.. is capable for up to 1000hp.. i dunno. i may later on take that route. i hate the whole intake crap -- its bound to fuck up since it's not a direct fit.

I dremeled and drilled the assembly until it was no longer rammed in. Drill some holes in the canister under the sock so it can pick up through them even if it is smashed in the pump assembly.
