Hey everyone, just figured i'd post to break the no post ice lol.
Just bought a 2000 Eclipse GT from the original owner.
Thought i'd ask since this is the new members forum what i'm in for with the car

The car only had 54k on it when i bought it a few months ago and now has 57k, The owner said nothing has been done to it other then oil and filter changes and has been garaged for all 12 years. So I'm kind of wondering if I should do any kind of maintenance? Even if it has low miles it's still 12 years old..on original plugs and everything.

so any advice and what not is appreciated! And awesome forum!

Thought id add some pics too!

Paid 5k for it, it was worth it. Still even has the new car smell almost too it.

and to 3GSpyderGT Cancer? I assuming you mean peeling and stuff..yeah I heard about it.. any ideas on how to best prevent it?

Looks real good, and amazing find with the 54k.
Yeah, the best you can do with cancer is a garage, or just when it appears,,,,,paint it.
I got lucky with my car and the previous owner got an amazing black paint job.

Looks good! any future plans ahead??

Nice find indeed. Averaging less than 5K miles a year!

I would look into timing belt replacement, its usually done around 60K miles. While you're at it, the water pump as well since they're easiest taken care of together I believe. Other maintenance couldn't hurt as well. That is ridiculously good shape though it seems.

Welcome :wavey:

Awesome find! Can't beat a 1-owner car. (That's what mine was, although it was 120,000 miles and $6G)

Check out the cabin air filter behind the glovebox, make sure it's not gross or filled with leaves/etc. (I think all 2000's came with them right?) The back of the glovebox has two cuts in it, you squeeze the sides in to pop the hinge out, then it just falls on the floor- the filters' behind it.

2000s came with filter, its def a beautiful thing to have, wish i had one in mine :p

Amazing find btw! i got mine for 5000, on 76k!

Hope you find yourself welcome here, tons of stuff to read through, which is deff worth your time to actually read all discussions, arguements, and chatter :p i learn something new everyday!

Enjoy!
