When i was looking at the catalog of KW, I found they are also making KW 3 coilover for our 3G D53 chassis. I noticed that they cost around 2200, almost the same as JIC. Did anyone here use or know about the coilover?

I've looked into them, and actually still considering them somewhat. KW's are really nice coilovers, EVO owners for example swear by them. Two things that put me off: they don't come with pillowball mounts (for the price I feel they should) and I'm personally not happy with the rear spring not being linear. Both of this could be fixed with throwing extra money at them (buy a set of tein plates and order them with custom springs) but than it's just too rich for my blood. Might be the reason why nobody has them here yet.

KW makes top notch stuff, no doubt about that. I don't think I've read any poor feedback about them on the couple of automotive forums of different makes/models that I visit a lot.

Who did you talk to to get that sort of information? I think some V3s do come with pillowball top mounts - does their catalog say that the Eclipse version doesn't? (I can't access the catalog here at work, hence the question.)

It is kind of strange that the rear springs are progressive - I'm curious why they did that. Any idea what the rates are?

Potentially stupid question - does Tein make C/C plates specifically for the 3G, or do people just use ones for a different car (EVO?)?

Thanks!

KW3s are superior to JICs...they have 3 way adjustments meaning you can adjust fast and slow rebound. They are also not oversprung like most Japanese coilovers so have good performance with stock like ride. Additionally, they have a lifetime warranty.

I have heard from several shops that JICs are hard to deal with if you have a mechanical failure.

I've even seen a cusco front upper mount fitted onto jic's once here, so I'm curious where those came from. (2g? 4g?)[/QUOTE]

Ask 4g64tt, the JIC coilover he sold had one cusco front upper mount.
