any dealers on the forum able to sell me a Turbonetics turbo part number 11022-BB (ball bearing), for a decent price, and not backordered? $1,310 is the price to beat (summitracing.com)

if this isn't the right place please move it, just not sure where turbo venders would see this.

I do agree that the fact that he is running such a low boost # is stupid for the turbo he's looking for. Don't forget though, 8psi out of a 16g and 8psi out of a gt series ball bearing are two completely different things. It's all about cfm. 8psi on the turbo he's looking at will push him over 300whp, which he won't see anyways because of his motor. He could drop the same psi on a smaller turbo like the 16g and get just as good a spool time.

Honestly, since we've all been here. How many members have come and gone with these rediculous builds they claim to have. Some even provide a few pictures of their "progress". Then a few months later you see a post in the FS section "Turbonetics turbo, CHEAP!!". Either that or they slowly die out. Some of the more complete builds you see put together, but you never hear about any performance gains or tuning because the idiots went with an SAFC and some other pos fuel device.

well, I've run a turbonetics T3/T40E for three years and it puts higher numbers down per psi than most other turbo setups I've seen on this forum. I like the turbo, my piping is setup for it, why would I go a different route when I know it works and I can have a faster better turbo? (paid for with insurance money!)

Excellent, well since you two are such good boost buddies, why not show him why swapping his turbo wouldn't be as efficient as opening up his piping, turning up the boost, and resorting to a better tune instead of dropping 1200 on a turbo. A bigger dp and a flash would be a hell of a lot more cost efficient and he could see well over what he's making right now if he pushed that turbo harder.

The same piping the xull made almost 400whp on?

I agree with your other point though. All that's holding him back is a good fuel system and a spot on tune. That'll be good enough for anything on the stock engine.

If its the AAI like I had, its actually just shy of 2.25". ::ghey3:

sheesh, what's with all the turbonetics hatin... my turbo still kicks ass after 3 years, don't saying shit you can't back up about a companies products. Just because some people buy $200 junkyard turbos... doesn't mean a turbo company can't make better turbos.

enough with the baseless comments sheesh...
Its not hatin. Like I mentioned earlier, that turbo is decent for a specific range. Beyond that, it fails to deliver. At least, it failed to deliver up to my expectations.

And there is an undeniable truth about their CHRAs. They are junk. My BB literally fell apart after only 25k miles. But I didnt complain too much, Turbonetics replaced it free of charge evne though it was nearly a year past the warranty end-date.

and how is a 3in downpipe going to do anything on a turbo that doesn't even have a 3in outlet?, If I recall correctly, evos can make 500hp with their stock 2.25in exhaust.
Im not going to bet an appendage on it, but, I dont think they dont make that kind of power on stock exhaust/dp. Thats one of the first things evo **** upgrade becuase its way too small.

I have to agree with Playa, you would benefit more from a bigger downpipe, and exhaust, more boost and tuning...

Flash is way more cost efficient than the ems right now. I did the evo swap/reluctor swap and have an LC-1 tatrix setup. Once my motor comes out of the shop Flash will get it rolling. With the way the 3g is looking it's either the Flash or the EMS when it comes to boosting.

16g is a tiny turbo .. comes stock on a 2.0L turbo motor. it's a good budget turbo.

2.4L turbo's definately could benefit from something larger such as a gt3076r or t3/t4 50 trim.

+1 it was a good starter turbo for me. Made 300whp. Now its time to go bigger though. SC61 it is for me however thats going to be with a built motor to get the most I can out of it. I think on a stock motor/head a 50 trim would be a decent sized turbo.

I think you guys have the same one... the old AAI dp. I always saw it advertised as 2.5" but I know Ben has had it in and out many times and I beleive him if he says its only a "cunt hair" over 2.25. Maybe it some metric measurement.
