Sad, eh Sandman? I'm personally not familiar of any kind of meet-type organization or communication among LA 3G ppl. I mean I know of some, but there doesn't seem to be any kind of "LA group" like TX or FL or CA or what have you.

 

well i attempted to do something but in the last month iv got married, found out im having a kid, school starts in 5 days, looking for a house, looking for new job, pitty party over


the mirage guys had a meet in baton rouge, started in lafyette and took I-10 to BR

the thing is, where i live there is nothing to do. we need to find out what people would want to do. like BBQ at a park. go to a track. ride from city to city.

i would like, if texas had a meet, for us to get together and make a road tip to them.

it would also help us if there were more car shows around here so we could find people in person instead of waiting for people to get online and find this place.

most of the time when we do meets, or try, everyones up for it till a date is set and half have something going on, so its changed and the other half have something going on.

im trying to get a ball rolling, just need more people.

 

also having two forums does not help either, try and get people over there to check out this one, and you guys if you dont know there is another forum.

What forum? Anyway, the next April Austin meet already has a date This early, it's set on the weekend of the 2nd. Like I said, I'm not really sure about any meets from now till then.

However, I will have to say that the successful meets I've been to and know of are those that have been centered around people as opposed to cars. Car meets (where other people show their various make-and-model cars) are cool, but most of them happen at a certain time of day (mostly night), and going to malls and restaurants doesn't make for a really unique and memorable experience.

The last Houston meet we went to started off as a barbecue. Granted that it wasn't too large (about 9 people? don't remember), we wanted to plan it enough to make it flexible at the same time. A barbecue or, as Austin does every year, a party at a lake or warehouse, followed only by night events with other car people. That's what seems to be the best kind of meet.

However, I do sympathize about not having a lot of cars or meets in the area. I lived in Beaumont, TX for 4 years. It was the same problem in East Texas as it is in LA, I assume

This is all kinds of cars that are in the lousiana area. Since we dont have a lot of 3g members in LA this is a nice car forum to keep up with. They have meets and shows which i think will be nice just to see other cars and to show off our own. Also we can meet each other and other car enthusiets around our area. I think this sunday at the zephers stadium they are having a car meet. They will have an auto x course also. I havent been to one of there meets yet, but plan to go to this one and check it out. I just though i would post this and if anyone else is free and in the area, maybe would like to take a ride down to the zephers field and check out whats going on. I know i will. If you look on the site you will find more info about this upcomming meet.

sounds like a good plan man, great way to start things up. i wont be able to make it this weekend, (live 1.5 hours away) but you can let us know how it is :yesway:

There's a powder blue 3g w/ grafix and an aluminum wing out here in Baton Rouge. Is that any1 here? Just curious. I see it around town.
