Parts of Trenton are VERY nice. Of course it gets very pricy there. What is your budget?

 

Since Trenton is right on the border, I would commute from P.A. It is expensive to live in Jersey so I would avoid it if I could.

 

The military will be paying me like 1108 for housing, but the less I spend, the more in my pocket! I'd like to stick around 700-900 a month. 1 or 2 bedrooms Apartment preferably

 

Drelo has it right. It is not far at all to commute. Hell, you can take the train in.

 

The base is about 15 miles outside of Trenton, so I guess living in P.A is the better option? Keep in mind I have to travel in uniform :lol:

 

Actually McGuire sits directly in Wrightstown, NJ. It is GHEEEEETTOOOOOO. I stop through there all the time and have quite a few friends there. If you can swing it, definitely do the commute from Philly.

On a side note. Sorry I never got the back pack to you. I was busy as hell the last 3 months and flying a ton of other places. The one time I brought it with me; I never made it down to the Deid. I got lucky and had Crew Rests in Turkey and Germany the entire two weeks. I will get you that back pack though. Scouts honor.

Some cities have a ghetto and some cities are ghetto. Keep that in mind. As far as BAH goes, they base it on the zip code the base is in. Not where you choose to live.

Edit: Oh I just read that you're trying to get an apartment in PA. Like everybody said, NJ is expensive especially when it comes to auto insurance

 

I got a buddy of mine that I work w/ that just PCS'd from there and he lived in Philly. I'll ask him when I see him. He just had Knee surgery last week so I think he's on Convo. Lv. until next week.

 

You want to live around Cherry Hill area thats somewhat close to everything.

 

PM me your phone number. My cousin's husband (soon to be ex) is stationed at McGuire. He's getting ready to leave soon to head out to Cali. My cousin decided to stay living in the area though as she has her job there and everything. I can pass your number to her and she can give you some pointers.

I wouldn't commute if I were you. There's no trains that go right to the base. I remember my cousin having to have someone drop her off at the train station when she met us up in NYC one time.

 

You want to live around Cherry Hill area thats somewhat close to everything.

Cherry Hill would be a 20-30 minute drive with no traffic. There's always traffic on the turnpike or 295 during rush hours.

 

I don't mind commuting. As far as insurance goes, it's actually 10$ less a month for me then Texas :lol: I just wan't to find a good 2 bedroom for around 8-900$ I need the 2nd room because I have a ton of crap!

Cherry Hill is in NJ. I think about 10 - 15 minutes from Philly. I think it would be the ideal location for that area.
