My Saronno Red 3G GT

Well, I haven't updated this page in a while now, although, not much has changed....

This past month I spent another 8 hours detailing the exterior and while I am back home for the summer, I thought I'd go on a second photoshoot with my friend. More pictures are to be expected within the next couple of weeks!

Thanks for the compliment...

And here is what I mean by "custom" grill...I made the grills myself not too long ago. Here are some better pictures that I took before I installed them...

For the side grills, I didn't want to drill or cut anything into the bumper. So I installed my grills with fishing wire (which sounds terrible, but it works) and then I simply attached the mesh and plugged it into the bumper using the stock fake grills. Overall, to do all four fake grills...it only cost me around $1.17 with tax. :)

And here is the center grill...that only cost me $6.50 to make.

Nice, tell us how you managed the low price, everywhere I look the grill is expensive. I've been thinking about doing that too...

Well for starters, I made a posterboard cutout...( I did not take off the bumper, everything was done with playing the game of "Cut and fit"..."Cut and fit" until I got the shape that I wanted...here's what my cutout looked like...

Then I went to Home Depot. to pick up some "gutter-guard" material/mesh which was only $1.17. I later went home and hammered the mesh flat...painted it black with some left-over paint from a previous job. Then went to Pep Boys and picked up some door-edge guard material which cost me around $5.00 (which seemed like a lot to me) and once I got that put around the mesh. I used zipties to install it (once again, I didn't feel like drilling and taking my car apart to install the grill)

Nice ride man!

How did you get the center grill to stay if you didn't drill? what did you ziptie it to?

Yup, but not for long. As soon as I move away to a larger University...I lose my slot in the garage...and my car is DEFINATELY not going to look like this anymore.

That's why I am enjoying my car as it stands...

Mojo, for the past three years I used Meguiar's Gold Class liquid wax. And I recently switched over to Meguiar's NXT Generation liquid wax. Both waxes come out with the same results...but I found that NXT Generation wax was easier to wipe off.

I only wax my car once a year...and as soon as summer starts I got to do my annual waxing :)

What a clean car and terrific DIY job on the grille.

Where in TX are you?

This car is SO clean man. The paint is flawless, the color scheme looks good, and everything is coming together slowly but you make it look good. Take off the mudflaps tho.
