What are the limits of the 4G64 in naturally aspirated form? How high of a compression ration can I run? I'm wanting to make 200whp, but I want to do it without forced induction. What are my options? and what all would be needed to achieve my goal? I know a few of you have went full motor...so surely someone can help me out.

Why? Without variable valve timing and compression, there's no point in doing an NA motor build. There's just no significant power to be had that way.

I'll just add nothing is impossible if you are willing to spend the money. But if you can get the same or better results putting a turbo on, why go the harder way? The 4g64 takes boost very well.

But if you wanted to do it all motor, throw everything out but the block (which you may have to replace any way). You'll need a crank, rods and hi comp pistons that can get into the 8000 rpms range. Then you'll need cams, timing belt, valve train, and heads that can flow up into the 8000 rpms range. A redesigned intake plenum and TB that won't impede a high reving engine. Then there is the balanced header and exhaust system. See what I'm getting at? If you think you can get a 200 whp all engine build reving between 6500-7000, you'd be mistaken.

it is not easy or cheap building an NA 4g64. i highly reccommend F/I.

so eay, so cheap, at 200hp you could build a turbo setup that would produce better power then NA, meaning TQ sooner.
