Hello all,

My name is John and I currently live in Clay City, KY. I wanted to take a moment to show off my new ride and introduce myself . I recently traded off my short bed Chevy truck, for a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. The Eclipse is a 4 cylinder/ 5 speed and it runs great. I have never owned one of these car's so I figured I would join this site and try to get as much info as possible. I am going to try and fix some of the blemishes in order to get the car back into good condition. Currently besides the eclipse my wife and I also own a 2002 Chrysler Sebring which is almost the same color as the eclipse.

Car doesn't look too bad, just get that rust fixed ASAP plus all other maintenance. I'm in Ironton, Ohio so I'm only about an hour and a half from you. If your ever in the Ashland area let me know.

I think I am going to fix the rust spots and maybe go over the car with some plastidip until I can afford a good paint job! Right now I am just enjoying the 35 MPG.

Welcome, traded just the truck or did you toss some more money for it? Looks like a great place to start working.

I traded a sharp 1983 Chevy Silverado short bed for the car straight out. The car is a 4cylinder/ 5speed and So far I get between 33-35 mpg(I drive 60 mile hwy communite to and from work).

That's ungodly control for these cars :blowup: I'm lucky if I get to 300 miles on one tank haha. But anyways, welcome! :wavey: I have a 2002, but pretty close Make sure all maintainence is up to date, then have fun exploring the site. Lots of ideas everywhere

So far I am still looing into exactly what maintenance I need to do. I am going to search the forums and get a ball park idea, what I think it is would be to replace the timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, wires, oil change and air filter change.
I really like the car so I am going to fix all the little quirks and just enjoy it. I've never had a Mitsubishi although I was a big fan of the commercial they had in 2003 with the girl in the seat dancing to days go by by Dirty Vegas.
