Still one of the best Auto Shows you can attend.... In a City that is just as spectacular!

February 7th-9th - 2014 Chicago Auto Show Meet

Will be heading out of here around 6 AM by the Big Blue Dodge on Friday morning and getting into Chicago around 12/1/2ish PM Chicago time, Friday night dinner & or Drinks for those who are die hards and want to meet up early..

As years past, I'm not filling the weekend with a huge ass schedule, but a nice fun weekend to see some new cars, hang out with good friends, have a drink or 2 and come back to a city that I love so dear!

Hotel - We will be staying downtown again this year but at a different location... For years we have stayed at the at the Chicago Hyatt Regency, but with the increase of cost to now $200+ a night we decided to take on a new location... Hell, if the CHR doesn't want our money I am sure another hotel will.
This year it is at the theWit Chicago - A DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel

Booking will be done through Hotels.com... Book Here!:wavey:

I booked off of Hotels.com for those of you who might be interested in hanging out for some after party fun. They have a deal running right now for winter for $165.00 per night (1 Room, 2 Queen Beds), which is the cheapest price I found on any hotel in Chicago. So if you are thinking of staying, that would be a good deal... again on Hotels.com... Save some money and get with another member, makes booking a lot better on the pocket book.

**PARKING for HOTEL** For those of you driving in, we will be parking at Loco's School which has free parking (Hotel Parking is between $50-$75 per day!), close to the Red Line to the Hotel, and close to where dinner will be Friday night... the address is available for those who are coming in and wish to park/meet up with us Friday night... Either contact Loco or myself for the info.

Friday Night / Saturday -

* Friday / Friday Night events are as follow or fly by night; as we will be arriving into town again around noon/1/2ish PM time and will be heading to the hotel to settle in and unpack. Later evening we will be taking the Red Line back up to where our vehicles are parked (1345 West Argyl St.... FREE PARKING!) to a place of Loco's choice (Vet Chief, so it is always good food). If you plan on coming in early to hang out, get a hold of either me or Loco and give you directions.

*Heading to the Show Saturday at 1:00 PM after breakfast at (Beef & Brandy- 127 S State St). We have a new place for breakfast has Ada's Famous Deli has closed after attending Saturday Show breakfast for the past 5 years. If you are planning on meeting up with us for breakfast, we will be meeting at our Hotel around 10:00AM to then head out (Directions to Beef & Brandy)... We will probably take the Red Line down. There is a parking garage off of 5 South Columbus Drive (Millennium Park Garage), which is not far from the hotel/Breakfast (Directions from parking to breakfast) and is a perfect place to park if parking at the McCormick Place ($20.00 parking if I remember correct) isn't an option for you. After breakfast we will be taking "the Bus" (unless you drive to the McCormick Place) to the show. We tried it last year and it was a direct route to the show, fast easy, and warm. :yesway:

Probably going to spend a few hours at the show and then head out to dinner at the Rock Bottom Brewery...
Rock Bottom Brewery

1 West Grand Ave.
Chicago, IL 60654

Directions

Note - I will be calling and making a reservation for our group once I complete a head count at the show. If you are driving separately then you might want to take down the address above. As of Right Now, Times for Dinner are 6/6:30 for a number of 21 attending... if everyone who is on the list goes to Sat night dinner..

*Sunday (for those of you who are staying/close) we will probably meet up at Wildberry Pancake Cafe to have our famous "Fair well Breakfast"...

130 E. Randolph St.
Chicago, IL 60654
Directions

Thread....as always... will be updated/changed for times, eat locations, fun as the event draws closer, but this is a pretty fair outline of what the weekend will hold. Everyone is welcome to come and hang out, but no one is expected. Please post up if you feel this is something you would like to do and I will add you to the list. :)

* This will be an official Club event, club attire is encouraged, but not required for the event. RUMCHATA is required to be brought by each member!....as we run out too fast.

Maybe I'm a alcoholic or maybe I'm cheap and hate paying 5 bucks for a 8oz rum and coke. BUT last year I brought a flask or 3 with me and it did the trick. Most of us have a nice stainless steel one engraved with a special date or persons name or whatever. I personally was scared to have my priceless item confiscated so..

:yesway: ta da!

Well.... Ada's is closed. So that is no go for Saturdays breakfast before the show.

Also, instead of going to DMK or Kumas on Friday... I am going to try something different. Let Jeremy try Vietnamese food or at least something different. Chicago is a wonderful wonderful place to eat... that is why I dont think I could ever leave. No need to keep going to the same place over and over.

Just booked my King bed for 125 off Hiltons main website for 125 a night, advance pay. Otherwise, its currently 145 for 2 Queen beds.

I would have gotten 2 queens and shared a bed but my buddy might be sleeping over since we go/went to school near the area (whom i doubt would pay for his share :squint: ). Dont think its fair if I share with someone and he decides to spend the night. On the other hand, if he doesnt... I still get my king bed alone and didnt spend extra for a bed that I wont use.

Had some issues come up that I am working on... but yes I need to get my train tickets bought. As for Ron, I am not sure about him. :dunno:

That is the plan, but my embroidery lady's husband was diagnosed with cancer before Christmas, so she is like 2 weeks behind of everything... but I will be talking with her to try to have everything C3G done in time for the show!

Also, Loco, I have not yet got anymore word from Ron, so I take it he is out.
