The red lip is a bit too much for me, I would have painted it silver or some other non-rice color. It looks good, but will the quality hold up to the elements? I see oversprays, drips, smudges, etc...

What type of paint and method did you use? The only way to do this right is to powdercoat the rims to ensure the paint won't peel off after 3 weeks of use

 

Yeah, I have same rims. I don't think you should paint them,
powder coating is only way!!!

 

my friend painted his lip silver so i didnt wanna copy his and i thought the red was sick yea ive heard powder coating is good but kinda expensive, i used paint thinner first to eat off all the paint, primed it, sprayed 2 coats of black and red, then 2 coats of clear coat i think it came out pretty good other than a couple of drips...

 

Doesn't look good at all. Doesn't look like they were preped well or time spent to actually do a quality job on the wheels. Definitely looks like a half-assed job.

 

i used duplicolor brand and it was engine enamel so it will hold up to high temperatures

 

Why the hell would you do that? What kind of high temps do your wheels see? Do you drive through hell everyday?

lolol i used painters tape to cover the wheels and put newspaper around it so the paint wouldnt get on ive got to wash them though....

 

A wheel is the hub, spokes, and rim. TIRES are what usually go around them so you don't die.

Yeah and then you will paint the spoiler to match the calipers and door handles and so on and so on. We get it, you like rice.

 

Better prepping next time. They went from decent factory wheels to ghetto rice el cheapo that will start to peel in few months. They came out looking like a$$. :noway: There you go, that's my opinion.

I admit it looks bad. But not everyone is handy, good with paint, etc. But maybe he surprised himself and thought he did good. And i just want to acknowledge that Im not a total ass.

 

Sometimes you dont know your good at it untill you try it.

Like regulator said paint the calipers red and go on ebay and get the mitsubishi red (wheels) stickers to put where your mitsu logos are on the rim. Next time take the time to do it right. It doesnt hurt to go the extra mile and time cause in the end it's always worth it.

 

Not bad for a first attempt. Would have chose different colors but that's my preference. The nex time you decide to do this make sure you sand in between coats and take your time taping with the lip.
