Im trying to decide what springs to get to lower my car. Im doing it for looks as well as the performance. I havent seen any spring rates for either of these anywhere. I would imagine the sportlines are stiffer and better for handling correct? What im looking for though is pictures of either GTs or GTSs ONLY that have the prokit or sportlines, so I can get a better idea of what the drop is going to look like. Thanks

Sportline's will drop your car lower than the pro-kit. If you're a dumpy low, hot import nights kind of guy, then get the sportlines. If you are a normal person who wants his car a littlel lower with stiffer springs, then get the pro-kit.
:agreed:

Keep in mind that if your car is lower (with sportlines) you don't have as much room for suspension travel.

I have the prokit, and the handling on that is great so far. I haven't had it long enough to change the settings around a lot and see where I like it yet, but running on 2 on all four is a very agile ride. (note: I've also replaced the stock GT swaybar with an ST swaybar, so that definitely contributes to the handling characteristics as well).

EDIT: I'll see if I can snap some pics for you too.

We had one of the guys here in Orlando (the only sportline owner we have), mess up his CV joints with sportlines already. We all have Eibach Pros or Tein S-Tech springs for the most part.

The Tein springs give your car a more of an aggresive stance such as Rulez car (COTM of September).
The Eibach pro springs, lower your car all the way around enough to put less damage on your front bumper like me with the SS Kit front lip.

Consider getting the Goldlines. They lower your car 1.5" front/rear.

Not necessarly, my car doesnt have a slammed look, and i go over speedbumps at normal speed without having to go sideways over it like most ricers.

prokit w/ kyb's on a gts. they've been on for about a year now so they've had time to settle. i think the drop is perfect. any lower and i'd have trouble with the shitty ohio roads i deal with. handling wise they are great. i've got my kyb's at 2 (front) and 1(rear).

You sure you have the Sportlines and not the Pro-Kit? Granted, this is on a 2G... but here are a few pics of a 2G FWD stock height, 2G FWD Eibach Pro-Kit, and 2G FWD Eibach Sportline:

The gap in his wheel wells does look suspiciously like mine (which is Pro-Kit).

03Eclipse do you have an RS? If so, I wonder if that's why it doesn't drop it as much.

that is the reason it isn't dropped as much, i've seen the prokit and sportline on he same gs and the sportlines gave the gs the same drop as the prokit i have on my gts

Yeah i have an RS, that probably is the reason, cause the motor in the V6 is obviously heavier, but than again on that 2G with sportlines it looks slammed, and doesnt the 3G weigh even more than the 2Gs?
A GT or GTS will look closer to slammed with the sportlines than the prokit.

I didn't get the sportlines because I know I'm getting a WW nose, and I don't want to have issues scraping that everywhere I go.

the springs rates aren't the same for the springs for the 2G. All the 2Gs have a 4cyl in them so they dont' vary in weight as much as the 3G's since we have 4cyl models nad 6cyl.

Ok, thats why I got confused, I was looking through all the pictures the other day of lowered cars on here and I saw 03Eclipses car and didnt realize his was an RS. I plan on getting the WW kit, and I dont want the slammed look, nor the slanted down nose look, so Im gonna get the pro-kit. The other thing is I was afraid to get them because I had them on my maxima and it barely looked like it was lowered, but i guess its different on every car.

xkaped has the prokit/ kyb's with the ww front lip and its only about a 1/4" lower than mine right now. we did just put his springs on though so they need ot settle some. It'll prolly be just under a half inch lower with the ww lip.

I have been looking at suspension for my car and am hoping on getting it this chirstmas. I was looking at the Eibach Pro kit because i think it will be a nice look and i wont destroy my car especially going to school because the cheap a**es wont pay for the gravel to be leveled out. but anyway. this may seem strange but i have a friend with a del sol and he told me that he read on the club forum that the eibach springs sometimes settle different. Like one spring will sink more than the other 3. Has anyone heard this or is he just making this up. I would really like to know because i dont want to have to buy new springs again. Any help would be nice..THanks

I think he might be referring to the difference between the pro kit on a I4 vs a V6. V6 weighs more, rides lower, etc.

Hey rulez, have you had a problem with suspension travel in the front with the s-tech's? I have the teins and kyb agx on all fours, and the fronts dont nearly have as much room to travel as the rear. and yes i cut the rubber stoppers in 1/2. any help...
