What is the standard plug gap? Should any adjustment be made for nitrous?
My 2000 service manual says for both the 2.4 and 3.0 GT motor the gap should be 1.0-1.1 mm or 0.039-0.043 inches not to exceed 0.051 inches on the GT.Malveaux said:stock gap is .044
Thanks! I set it at .039.MCMike37 said:My 2000 service manual says for both the 2.4 and 3.0 GT motor the gap should be 1.0-1.1 mm or 0.039-0.043 inches not to exceed 0.051 inches on the GT.
What year chevy?myrt said:well let me just say this and i wil drop it... i had a stock HEI setup on my chevy... installed a Jacobs prostreet ditigal ignition and picked up over 75 HP. the stock one just couldent lite off a 11.5:1 motor with over .600" lift. the worse the mixture the harder it will be to lite it off. cylinder presure makes a BIG difference. if u run high compression the resistance the spark will have to jump through the plug will be to high and it will start to mis... been there, see it happen, done it myself...
