Well i live in a very high altitude area (10,000ft above) and after using gas that wasnt premium for about six months my fuel pump had to be replaced bcause the filter was clogged and non repairable, so i was told at the mistu dealership that it can cause this to happen but who knows, but $600 later i would never put anything but premium in my car again (even though its 2.77 a gal where i am)

That would not cause your fuel pump to go out.

:woot: I only pay $2.30 for premium
Yup, same here. Anyways, you cannot mix 87 and 93 together. What will happen is that now you have two octanes in the gas tank, which means once the fuel reach your spark plugs in the combustion chamber the fuel will ignite at two different times. Needless to say, its bad, and most likely will cause your car to develop engine knock. The Eclipse GT/GTS V6 is tuned for premium fuel from the factory, so that means anything above 91 (recommended is 93, but some areas do not carry it).

Your dirty filter had nothing to do with octane. :horse:

That sounds like water in the gas.
