One of my roommates is 320 pounds. He rides in my passenger seat and I am just wondering if that much weight could cause any permanent damage over a prolonged time to my car, i.e., my struts. Anyone?

A fat bastard friend of mine (6'4" and around 320) blew the struts and shocks on his old Grand Am rather quickly and after he had 'em replaced, he blew 'em out again within 5k miles. Of course, he drives like a dumbass... "potholes? speed bumps? huuuuuuh???" Yeah, that kind of a guy. He drives a Scion xA now. For the life of me, I cannot fathom how he manages to shoehorn himself into it.

remindes me of highschool. my girlfriend had a geo metro and we used to get a bunch of friends together and go on road trips... my camry didnt have AC so we never took it, but someone else had a nissan of some sort so we split 7 people between the cars... she had this fatass friend named krista or something like that.
i always ended up being the only one who knew the way to the places we'd go so i would always end up driving and would try and get two of the skiny girls in the back before krista could get in..

that little geo didnt like her 300 pounds of lard, especially while going uphill

Your door sticker should state what the maximum amount of weight you can carry is. I doubt 320lbs, plus you, is getting close to it; seems like most of you have stereo systems that weigh that much.

This reminds me of a pretty funny story. My uncle used to have an old beater during his highschool days and the fuel gauge on it didn't work. He would just have to estimate by the amount of miles driven since it was filled. Well in his circle of friends there was this one huge guy who would drive the range of the car way down everytime he rode with them and they'd all give him shit about it. An eclipse is not a accommadating car for fat people. Make him ride a bike.
