You looking for just the head or the whole motor? The shop i worked at got em from some place in la ready to drop it. But you needed a core to send back to them. I believe it was 250-300 shipped.

I am looking for the whole motor with turbo, exhaust manifold, alternator, water pump, etc. I am also trying to find a place to get an evo 8 ecu as well as the engine bay harness. Since tae used autoparts sounds like a scam.j

Most salvage yards carry a 30 day warranty so plan on having everything needed for the swap before you buy the motor. Pick it up, install it, and fire it up. If the motor is junk take it back...

 

I looked at that site skinny gt and does $500 for a core deposit sound normal to any one? I feel that its way to high.

 

Be sure to ask their terms too. Some yards around here require specific parts to be new (stuff you should change anyways like water pump, belts, etc.,) and require the install be done by a shop for that 30 day warranty to count. Some also cover parts+labor while others only cover parts.

 

I get all the stuff with motor warranties and such I just can't find a place I trust/reasonably priced to buy a motor from. Any one have any idea how much a stealership would charge? I would call but I am afraid of the possible stroke that may follow haha.
