How do you remove the steering wheel?
I'm looking to buy a momo millenium steering wheel and put it on there, but haven't found any listings on this site of how to do that.

You need to buy or borrow a steering wheel puller from Auto Zone or the like first off. Disconnect the battery! Take off the bottom plastic panel below the steering wheel and disconnect the air bag plug just to be safe. I think its the yellow one. There are two bolts on the sides of the wheel that you need to take out, that loosens the air bag. Pull the bag out carefully and unplug the wires in the back of it. Take off the nut on the spindle and connect the steering wheel puller and there ya go. I don't think I forgot anything, I'll post if I remember any other steps.

yeah I checked out MOMO's website, no switches there (odd) but I looked at Sparco's and they had single and double buttons available for attachment to the steering wheel hub...they should work on a Momo one right?

Yo check this mad tyte nitrous button:

:squint: I know it's rice but there was no way I could fit the horn wires into that small Momo wheel. The wheel actually came with the center button :bash:

Anyways I need to press this button everytime I honk (which doesn't happen too often), so it's bearable...

christ you have to reach THROUGH the wheel to get the button !!!?

yeah because I'm looking at picking up the Millenium wheel from NAmotorsports (he's got an awesome deal going on now btw) and was worried about the horn, not that I use it too much...

At first I took the whole horn assembly out and drove like that for couple months. High beams do the work pretty well at night, but there wasn't much help during the day. So yeah, the button is reachable though, and I love the extra emotion and accent on each honk.

Uhm... why would you need a steering wheel puller? All you need to do is disconnect the battery, unscrew the 2 hex bolts on the side of the airbag module, remove airbag/horn unit, unplug, and loosen the steering wheel nut with a deep socket. If I remember correctly, it's a large metric... 17 or 18. I don't recall :)

yeah I'm with jabber on this one, that's how my friend and I both drive

someone pisses us off, one out the window, other on shifter, knees drivin.

so slippercream (eh?!) you managed to get off your steering wheel with just normal tools? cool.
How did you get out the passenger air bag...I mentioned this in a previous post but I don't want the passenger air bag to go off and knock out my blond GF, because she'd be pissed lol.

oh and does anyone know the diameter of our stock steering wheel?!

Always disconnect the battery every time you have to disconnect the airbag. Just take out the negative pole and that should suffice. ;)

Yeah.
I also just happen to like the style of the millenium wheel over that of the Evo.
Oh to answer an earlier post, the millenium (and Evo model too) comes with a center mounted horn button, looks stock, so no worries there.

Yeah I'll be sure to disconnect the battery thanks! :) It's just a pain in the @$$ because everytime I disconnect my battery, the ECU gets reset and my car's idle goes straight to hell for a short while.

I'm gonna ask something really stupid, but how to put it back? :) I took it of to replace my entire dashboard (btw thanks to everybody on this forum for instructions and answers) and I just want to be sure I do everything right when I'm putting the wheel back so I won't end up with it in my hands on a highway :)

Put the wheel back on and install the nut. Tightening the nut will press the wheel back onto the shaft. Good job on searching:yesway:.
