Long story short i bought my 3g knowing that the radio had just been stolen out of it. In addition all that the seller included was one really bent up metal bracket, so i was wondering what alternatives i have if any than just calling up the dealer and getting the brackets.

I plan on installing this JVC Mobile Entertainment \ Model KD-HDR1 \ Introduction

Would this work, or do you still need the stock brackets?

Try bending them back? if that doesn't bend back try getting a new one if you can do that? A Picture would help a lot to.

If i remember correctly new brackets are about $5 each from the dealer.

I bought that same one from crutchfield, and it came with the bracket...

Though I had a 6 disc changer before so I was downsizing...

So I really had nothing else to mount it on if it didn't come with it...

Love the receiver though.. Good choice...

Blayze you still had the metal stock things to tie into through right? I will take a picture of what i have to work with but it is just like a big open hole with nothing.

Also do you like the HD feature too? Can you tell a difference in sound quality? In the store i tried it out in it couldn't get any stations

Ok i think that i will just wait and drive up to the dealers to get the brackets, but here are some pics to show what i am working with.

I guess i don't see exactly where the brackets hook up to.

You have to pull the radio bezel out first! Underneath it you will find 2 screws. Unscrew them, and the entire plastic piece pops off. There you will see where to install the brackets.

You do not need the stock brackets if you are going to use that mounting hardware. I used the same thing without the stock brackets and it looks like poo, but hey it gets the job done.
