Ok I was talking ideas with my turbo car about my buddies eclipse. He suggested doing a head swap. He had a 2g turbo motor the a customer wanted to get rid of due to he was building a better motor. So will a 2g turbo head swap and use wiring harness(with all sensors) and ecu......If it will rather have a turbo ecu and get rid of the 3g. He has 8.5-1 compression. BTW is the oil pan 6 bolt or 7 bolt.

Wow what a brilliant idea. 2Gs roXor so hard, I bet a 2G head on this car would ownZor. I dont think anyone has ever considered doing this. I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work, do you? :dunno:

BTW: The oil pan has more like 20 bolts.

I tryed doing a search you guys talk about evo heads and kia heads. I dont know nothin about these cars well because i dont own this car. I drive a mitsu and I know alot of parts are interchangable. I'm just trying to get info to help a friend out. I didnt think it was so hard to say yes it would work or no it wont work because.........

Ok so now i realize why its suck a dumb question....i didnt look at the engine while i was there. So i couldnt realize that the 1g/2g motor faces the other way. but if he got a evo head would it be possible to use the 2g wiring harness and ecu. What bolt is your block (dont know why i was thinking oil pan)????

I think its in other posts, but from what I have read, the normal 3g ECU is fine. The only thing that causes a problem is the camshaft position sensor... maby? Napalm could answer your questions, but I suggest that you read up on the Head Swaps before you ask any questions. People around here don't like it when you don't read first. They feel like you need to put forth some effort and not just get all the answers told to you for free.

If this was my car i would read everything as i did for my VR4....i did a search on this site but couldnt find direct answers. I know the 3g ecu overrides piggy backs....and the reflash program i hear is shit so after you reflash the car after a while the car blows up(on top of that your car is only going to be at one setting you cant turn boost up with out a reflash). I was just wondering what bolt block you have....like as in a 6g72 has a 2 bolt and a 4 bolt...and what dont I understand about this????? Thank you to anyone who actually posted useful info.

There are some real f***in A$$holes here! glad to see the 3g guys stickin together n helping anyone out with time consuming info, not to mention legitimate responses!! In the time you spent bitching you couldve saved your "worn out keyes" and answered with a simple yes or no and saved everyone a full page of posts, but hey once again, glad the 3g guys are here to help. If youre really going to bitch bout questions, then tell someone who actually gives a shit. If you have a descent repsonse that can actually be somewhat helpful, like the .com site was made for, then fuckin speak your mind.
