Does anyone know anythang about the Transparent Hoods, ive been wanting to do something other then carbon fiber like everyone esle has, and have only seen ONE 3g with the transparent hood. Let me know if ANYONE knows where i can get one!

This belongs in show and shine. Personally I think it would be stupid, but I'd imagine they make it out of urethane or plexiglass (of course I don't know how it would handle the heat). I don't know why you would want to do this but whatever floats your boat...

That hood was actually made by APC. It's no longer made and discontinued.

New, they were something like $800.

Unless your engine bay is 100% clean and perfect show quality, I think it would be a dumb idea.

it might be cool if it could withstand heat and had some sort of design sprayed on it so that only parts of it were transparent...

 

Grammatical nit-picking aside, I think XwP1ayawX has point. While the tone of his post (#4) was a little on the "smart-ass" side, I kinda agree. A clear hood like that is an original way to put your engine on display for shows, but seems impractical for everyday use.
For a show car, yes.... a daily driver (like mine) should be more discreet IMHO.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of those unless you've got a little more happening under the hood to show off.

i think it would be kidna cool if someone had one and painted it to hide all the crap you didnt want to see under the hood but kinda ghosted it near the intake manifold and valve cover (that is if they were blinged out) that would be something different.

I just think they are a waste of cash unless your car is going to be competing in shows a whole lot.

 

They no longer make that hood at all and I think if he has it he was tring to sell it for like 800.oo but thats because you wont find them no where else.

Um, pretty sure that Justin made that out of a clear plastic material. I dont recal APC ever making one of these. You could prolly make one for around 300 out of lexan.

FYI - The transparent hood has been discontinued since before you got your learners permit.

 

I would only use the hood for show and take it off for DD reasons. From what I have heard they all warp and yellow over time.
