Anyone know?
If there was a 12second sporty id definitely expect that they would post that up for sure dont you think?Tearstone said:The fastest Sporty I ever remember was one on Nitrous that ran low 13s if I can remember correctly. But then again I'm a little fuzzy on that. We may not know for sure since there are a lot of Sporty SDSs that don't report what they do on this board either.
Second thought, I am almost sure there is a 12 second SDS Sporty, Augimatic I think his name was, but don't quote me on that.
Interesting. So at what point do you think it would be reasonable to be able to officially say i have the fastest sporty time? 12.9?EdLo said:Fastest sporty GT was Ruben from NJ, with a Level 10 tranny, downpipe and nitrous. I think he was in the 13's. I forget how much he was spraying.
Other than that, Ryu - your time slip appears to be the most recent fast time for a sporty GT.
I don't remember ever reading about Augimatic and a 12 second run.
At the moment i have zero tranny mods. Im going back to the track on friday and most likely since i already have the crank pulley ill probobly throw that on as well before we tune it.EdLo said:LOL - for now, you could probably claim fastest sporty GT in FL. I'd say if you're in the low 13's, high 12's - you're probably the fastest sporty GT in the area. If you hit low to mid 12's - you're likely the fastest sporty GT in all the land.
Either way, put up a good number when you're tuned. You build up the tranny at all?
Wouldn't the fastest be someone who drives professionaly?ryu said:Id say there's a really good chance he/she is since this is the biggest and one of the only resources for the 3g.
:lmfao: Thats alot better then ur 9 minute joke. Who in the hell would choose a 3g for professional drag racing  There arent even complete listings for engine internals.theGeneral said:Wouldn't the fastest be someone who drives professionaly?
Damn dude, ever seen pro drag racing? I have seen Vegas running 9s.ryu said::lmfao: Thats alot better then ur 9 minute joke. Who in the hell would choose a 3g for professional drag racing  There arent even complete listings for engine internals.
.......well........don't they often put those fake fiberglass bodies on top of tube framed chasis? I could have sworn I saw a 3G bodied one in a magazine. :dunno: I could of course be wrong.ryu said:Yes i have seen pro drag. Ive just never heard of anyone using the 3g platform for it.
Anything is possible. Ive just never seen nor heard of anything of the sort. Plus there arent even any listings for valves or valve springs for the 6g72. It just doesnt seem like a practical platform for pro drag to me.theGeneral said:.......well........don't they often put those fake fiberglass bodies on top of tube framed chasis? Gotcha, they could use another motor though.ryu said:Anything is possible. Ive just never seen nor heard of anything of the sort. Plus there arent even any listings for valves or valve springs for the 6g72. It just doesnt seem like a practical platform for pro drag to me.
Until i see proof weather it be on this board or somewhere else im going to assume the fastest sporty is in 13 land. You should still run your car on friday at bradenton Russ. Recirculating the wastegate wont make a difference in 1/4 mile time or reliability.Tearstone said:Nah, I'm pretty sure there is a SDS Sporty 3G in the 12s. I, for the life of me can't remember the name, because I know that I have kept a keen eye on the Sporties that can eat my car for lunch for the past couple of years. Although, I have not been to the track lately and I'm already ripping the tires off of my car no matter what kind of concrete/asphault I am on since I put the FMIC on. Although, I would prefer to recirc my wastegate before I go back to the track though.
Nah, I could not make it overthere in time regardless.ryu said:Until i see proof weather it be on this board or somewhere else im going to assume the fastest sporty is in 13 land.
