Just yesterday the rear right wheel on my car started squeaking/creaking very loudly. FYI I had my car in the shop just over a week ago to get the rear brake cylinders replaced.

It seems the squeaking/creaking will only occur once things warm up, if I take a 5 minute trip it won't make the noise.

When it does happen, I've been driving for about 10-15 minutes (it's like 30 degrees out here). It doesn't matter if I'm moving 5mph or 50mph, the noise is constant. However, applying the brakes stops the noise completely. Then the second I take my foot off the brakes, it starts again. Going over bumps makes it 'creak' more than just driving on flat road.

I was thinking maybe either a shock/strut issue, or maybe a caliper? I'm no mechanic though, so I'm probably wrong.

Also, I had my brake pads checked about a week ago and I was told they're fine

Had the same thing with my front wheel, chek your anti-rattle kit !
It's basicly the little metal plating that holds your break pads in place instead of "ratteling" around.
if it's not placed properly or even slightly bent in a way it's not supposed to it'll squeak just like mine did. The slightest difference in shape in the anti-rattle plate will make those sounds

Yeah I figured it was something like that. I just had my car in the shop and they did some work on the rear brakes, so I'm gonna tell them they obviously didn't put it back on right. If they're not complete dicks, they'll admit it and fix their mistake for free :)

Could this be potentially bad if I don't get it fixed immediately? I don't need anything falling off my car or ruining anything, lol

well i meen the sound is probably from the rattle kit rubbing on your brake disk so it leave a ring on your disk and that ring might even get deeper with time...The rattle kit is like 25$ and if i were you id chek and see for myself. Mecanics rarely do anything for free...

By rattle kit do you mean the Brake shims that usually come when you buy good brand brake pads?? If so they are $6 for the front at your local auto parts store! But IMO I think it would be a blown strut

I dont know whats the real term, so far everyone i've talked to about it before called it the anti-rattle kit

My car sounded like a bus coming to a stop. It was the clips mentioned previously. They should be lubed with grease or the pad can actually grab them and pull them into the rotor. They flex very easily so it would be almost impossible to detect visually.

Maybe your brake pads are not releasing when you remove your foot, like sticking. Maybe try bleeding the brake system too. I don't think its the strut or the noise would always be there regardless of temperature IMO.

I was thinking it was a strut at first, just because of the symptoms. Going over bumps makes the squeaking louder and also makes a creaking noise.
I've had a blown strut before and this creaking noise is the exact same. The only thing throwing me off is the constant squeaking once I've been driving for ~15 minutes

Are all your rotors and pads good??

I was told they were fine about a week before this started happening.
But for about the past 6 days now it has completely stopped. No matter how long I drive or what I do, it won't do it anymore.

So now I'm really confused lol
Did they also check your brake shoe's?? But where did you say it would make this noise...cus messed up motor mount wouod do it also
